A good resort not very far from Kolkata
Reviewed By BPB2012Recently my wife and I had been to this resort which is less than 2 hours drive from the city of Kolkata and is quite popular for spending week ends and organizing company meetings and get togethers. Rooms are large in size and face the river Rupnarayanpur which is a great sight. However upkeep and maintenance would do with some improvement. The resort has large size and small halls for holding meetings and programs. Food at is restaurant was of fair standard. The very large area of the resort with big lawns and well maintained garden give an attractive look to the resort.

Slightly inside, but with an added benefits of free from noise and air pollution of vehicular traffic. Clean neat spacious, well maintained rooms. Spacious bathroom with adequate supplies of toiletry and white towels and napkins. Good courteous, ready to assist staff Beautiful Restaurant with little slow service but good food. Close to Airport - morning it took us about 7 to 8 minutes to reach Airport. Hotel had arranged drop, a new AC Desire Car on charable basis @ Rs. 300. Driver reported 10 minutes before time. We had booked room thr Agoda @ Rs. 2650 inclusive of Breakfast and all Taxes. Breakfast spread was Good but items not great! We were given options to choose the room and one we selected had full glass windows on one entire side facing two huge mango trees with lovely mangoes allover the tree. We loved the ambience so much that had we not got pre-booked return Air tickets for Mumbai, we would have extended our stay just to relax. Also, 10,days back when we had visited Siliguri, we had stayed at Hotel Uddan, a very noisy hotel with no view from the rooms. In fact we could not keep our room curtains open and felt very suffocating. And room tariff was much much higher than Marina's Motel. Reviewed By Santanu_DelThe Rangamati garden resort is a decent place for a family stay in Shantiniketan. Rooms are comfortable and value for money. My rooms were sanitized on arrival and staff wore masks while serving us. The food was good - i had specific requirements as I was travelling with a kid and the staff did everything possible to meet those specifications. There are totos available outside and one can get a contract for sightseeing. The hotel has a nice mango garden where one can have a pleasant stroll in the morning / evening. Staff was friendly. I enjoyed my stay here and will recommend the place if you are looking for a good ambience, peaceful stay & good food.

Very good pocket friendly hotel with all basic facilities provided. one gets a lovely view from the garden restaurant THE PATIO. The food is good and has variety. the staff and Paul the manager is a very friendly and is prompt in dealing with every details. overall a lovely stay

The rooms are spacious, clean and aesthetically pleasing. Clean toilet, 24x7 running hot water, nice service, home cooked food and a grand view of Mount Kanchenjunga. Unfortunately throughout my stay the weather was very cloudy. Still it worth every bit of my expenses.

Reviewed By Resort561640This place had sentimental value as I had people owning couple of ground floor units. I had an adequate non aircon room. As a solo traveller, I felt safe. Location fantastic. Lift man n overseers were helpful. Needs improvement on ensuring rooms and bins are cleaned everyday. Bed sheets, towels changed every day or two -guests should not have to ask for these services. TV did not work. Curtains need to be washed regularly as they did appear to have been washed since they were put on!! I would stay there always and did try to book a room for this year but the rooms are ALL SOLD OUT. Clear indication of how popular it is.

Comfortable and clean hotel for a family vacation
Reviewed By Praks_blrThe hotel is conveniently located on a main road, only a few kms from the main tourist areas of Kolkata. It was overall clean, modern and comfortable. It wasn't very crowded when we were there, even though it was between Christmas and New Year, generally considered peak tourist season. I booked online and got a good rate as well. We were there for 4 nights and the room we were in was reasonably spacious, with a sit out area next to a tall window. There was enough space in the room for all our luggage and an extra bed in the night. The bathroom was also clean and well maintained with a separate shower area. Being a pure vegetarian hotel, it worked well for us vegetarians and we liked the good spread for breakfast. We also had lunch/dinner at the restaurant and the options were good, though a bit pricey. The food was consistently tasty - we tried Indian, Chinese, Italian; even the curd rice was very well prepared. The service was also good, from check-in to check-out. On one of the days we were to leave very early on a day trip and they were nice enough to provide us packed breakfast at 4:30am. The room was properly cleaned and arranged every day while we were out. Even after check out we spent a couple of hours at the lobby before leaving for the airport and the staff made us comfortable. The only nit is the lack of other good dining options in the immediate neighbourhood, other than a Dominos next door.

Reviewed By Durga PSuite room @ 9k per night at fifth floor with no lift facility with no meals included. No geyser or hot water in room. Employees made to work 24/7. Not worth to spend that much money per night. You can get very good hotel at that rate. Overated and overpriced. Not worth more than 2k per night.
