Jaya Trekker Tetebatu

Reviewed By margaretlZ3044QL - Portland, OR, United States

The 2 day, 1 night option out of Tetebatu up to the crater rim is doable by anyone with reasonable fitness, unlike the harder 3 day, 2 night hike to the summit. Nothing technical or dangerous on the easier route. Jaya Trekker picked me up in Bangsal harbor, drove me the 2.5 hours up to Tetebatu, fed me a delicious traditional dinner (all meals in Jaya's house prepared by his lovely wife), housed me down the street in a bare bones but fine room / inn and fed me breakfast the morning of. Dani (guide) and Ucoxs (porter) accompanied me to the rim -- 700 m to 2640 m so about 6365 ft. About 5300 ft to the overnight camping spot where Jaya Trekker provided a high tech tent, warm sleeping bag and delicious hot dinner. (Lunch on trail that day 1 was also hot.) Hiked remaining ~1000 ft the next morning starting at 4:30 a.m. to make it in time for sunrise at the top which was awe inspiring -- as good as the images you'll see online. Hot lunch an option for the way down too if desired. Saw both gray and black (larger) monkeys in the trees along the trail. We got back later than usual so then Jaya fed me dinner and drove me back to Senggigi (2.5-3 hours) the next morning. Can't say enough good things about the entire experience. Dani's English was superb and I learned a ton about Lombok culture, politics and everyday life.

Booked for a 3-waterfall package (Benang Kelambu, Benang Stokel, and the waterfall just beside Stokel which name forgotten) @ IDR60.000 per person. Motorbike could be hired at IDR35.000 per person if you do not wish to hike all the way to the waterfall. The ride was around 10 minutes, and could take longer than half hour if you opted to walk. Benang Kelambu is more unique one, good to relax for 2-3 hours there

Bram's homestay is located in the upper part of tetebatu village, on the slopes in the rinjani just 2 steps away from the monkey forest where you can see black monkeys. We had great time here taking long walks in the forest, going to the Waterfalls and chilling at brams. Moreover we loved bram's wife food. So you definitely got to go to brams homestay if you come to Lombok!

Burung Walet Waterfall

Reviewed By Rios-Little - Jakarta, Indonesia

We visited this waterfall as part of a hiking day organized by Les Rizieres B&B and we all children and grown up enjoyed our time at the waterfall very much. We were the only ones there. There are fun bamboo Bridges to cross, the short walk to the water fall was fun and refreshing and we enjoyed our swing there. It was very laid back, very authentic.

Mount Rinjani

Reviewed By DavisChiang9636

It’s cool and breezy throughout the climb, although the summit bid can be scorching hot after sunrise. The view is amazing and the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is due to the litter everywhere and the lack of garbage management along the trek.
