Dún Laoghaire (Irish pronunciation: [d̪ˠuːn̪ˠ ˈɫeːrʲə]) is a suburban coastal town in County Dublin, Ireland, about 12 km (7.5 miles) south of Dublin city centre. It is the county town of the Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown district. Formerly a major port of entry from Great Britain, it was known as Dunleary until 1821 when it was renamed Kingstown in honour of King George IV's visit that year, and in 1920 was given its present name, the original Irish form of Dunleary.

Understated from the outside but roomy and cozy inside. We were immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the place including the bathrooms. Nice menu, we choose the prawn and peach salad which was excellent. Only downside is that tables are rather close together but service and food both above average.Lovely to hear that you enjoyed your meal with us and that you liked ambience in the bar. Believe it or not, our bathrooms got as much design input as our kitchen did. Our cleaning staff work hard every day to keep everywhere clean and I will pas your comments onto them.Fearghus.

3 of us visited here for lunch. Staff were friendly, service cozy pub with new and comfortable seating. I had the Indian Lemon Chicken (mild curry) with basmati rice, the others had the scampi and chips. Food was well presented, wholesome and well portioned for the price.

My husband and I visited here last weekend, and were delighted. We actually went to Monkstown planning to go somewhere else but it wasn't open at its advertised time.Service was super friendly and very prompt. The menu is great for brunch and allows either the usual fare, or your own build a brunch type approach. I had eggs royale, which was delicious and my husband and a build a brunch type affair which he really liked. Coffee was good, but could have been hotter, but thats a personal thing. Had dinner with my folks here last night. Service was great and the food was fab! I had the Turmeric spiced chicken with Mango, Lime and ginger, toasted pistachios and coriander yoghurt dressing for starters - was delicious! My parents had the pan fried lambs kidneys and thoroughly enjoyed them! Had the fillet steak for my main which was very nice and my parents had the roast duck breast - it all went down a treat!Prices were quite reasonable, but there was a â¬6.95 supplement for the fillet steak.

I had the misfortune of encountering Julie Cox, the owner of this restaurant, on my visit to this establishment last Friday evening. After making a reservation for my elderly mother and my brother we arrived on time to an empty restaurant. We proceeded to walk into the coach house and stood at the doorway looking out into the garden.At this point Julie Cox ran down to us and started shouting at us âNO! YOU CANNOT COME OUT HERE! So much for a warm and friendly welcome then? At this point she extended both arms and shoved us, into the restaurant from the doorway reiterating that We CANNOT go out into the garden. I was absolutely appalled that someone would treat paying customers in this manner, let alone an elderly lady! At this point I said to her I have never in my life experienced such a terrible attitude, rudeness and lack of human respect. Without responding, Julie Cox just turned on her heels and just walked away from us leaving her astounded staff members to try and explain her despicable behaviour. I left angry: eye-gougingly, bone-crunchingly, teeth-grindingly angry. How bloody dare someone treat people in that manner. We have visited this restaurant on different occasions in the past and had good experiences. I have even recommended it to colleagues as a venue for large groups. I will never do this again, and I will ensure that this experience will be spread far and wide.In the end we went on to a fabulous restaurant nearby and had a wonderful experience. Ms Julie Cox needs to be reminded that stories of this type of behaviour will travel, there are so many other beautiful options in this area. If you have a wedding the following day and it puts you in such a terrible state of severe agitation, even with an empty restaurant, my suggestion is to close the establishment to save you the potential of such stress Ms Cox.There are several words I can drum up to describe the treatment that we received at Beaufield Mews, but let me limit it one: repulsive. No, wait, remembering the owner physically shoving us into the restaurant, I would add: offensive. I will never again cross the threshold of this establishment; you have lost 3 regular customers.Hi Orla Doyle, I am sorry to hear this but there are always two sides to every story. One important fact that seems to be missing from your review .... I was in the middle of serving a wedding for 120 guests and you walked past the top table, bride & groom and their guests; when I kindly said this was a private party (I am a bit over protective of a wedding couple's privacy, I have to admit), you were very taken aback. As for the shoving, I am a slight 5'3 (on a good day), so I wasn't going to take on 3 of you!

I went to this wonderful restaurant today. I am not a vegetarian but ordered a spicy kimchi vegetable ramen soup and I was truly blown away. This place knocked it out of the park !!! They use good vegetables like tender stem broccoli and bok choy, seasoned eggs, spring onions and micro greens in the most delicious gourmet broth. The noodles are made in house and they taste soooooo good. Portions are huge.The flavour is amazing. Well done. I can't wait to go back the the rest of my family. I felt good after I ate here -- mentally, physically and spiritually.

We found this place because we're staying at Fitzpatrick Castle and was looking for some good food. We found it! The food was top notch and the service was friendly and attentive without being invasive. The steak was cooked perfectly and the warm goat cheese salad was absolutely delicious. Do your self a favor and have a pint or two, craic, and wonderful food in this beautiful pub.

8A Brasserie offers a quality dining experience at a very reasonable prices. The seating is comfortable, providing space and light to eat and talk without any background noise other than other human voices which is a pleasure in itself. Service is attentive and knowledgeable with good advice on wine recommendation for dishes selected. The menu is imaginative with attention to locally sourced ingredients and variety of choice. A 2 course meal for 4 adults with wine and coffees came to Eur 168. Irish and English understood and spoken, which is rare in South County Dublin

I hadn't been to Bistro Le Monde for a while, so it was time I had a return visit! The food and service were as excellent as they had been before.This time we had been to the cinema nearby and were in time for the early bird menu which finished at 7.30 p.m. - good value at â¬21.95 for two courses. We shared a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc @ â¬24. I had the garlic prawns for starters and hake to follow, while my friend had their Le Monde salad to start, followed by the beef Bourguignonne. We both enjoyed our meals and had time to get the Dart to our respective homes.Again I was surprized that the restaurant was not packed - the food is so well presented and delicious. We discussed what improvements could be made to entice more people in and my friend said she would consult another friend for ideas!Hi Margo37, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review.
