Reviewed By SEKWUThe breakfast and dinner at the hotel are very rich! The room facing the stream, can see the beautiful sunrise in the morning! There are only two pools in the public bath without an sauna, and the female place has only one door that feels unsafe. The hotel room is a bit old. Breakfast time is only until 9 o'clock, check out at 10 o'clock, the time is a bit too fast. 飯店的早餐和晚餐都非常的豐盛！ 面對溪流的房間早上可以看到美麗的日出！大眾浴池只有兩個池沒有烤箱，而且女湯只有一扇門感覺不安全。飯店房間有點舊。早餐只到9點，10點要退房，時間有點太趕。

Honen-Mansaku is located a short distance away from one of the most famous waterfalls in Japan called "Fukuroda Falls", surrounded by the beautiful wild nature. It is only 2 hours away from central Tokyo, but you can enjoy absolutely quiet moment in the mountain retreat. All you can here are only birds singing and the sound of wind blows. Look up at the grand nature and vast sky around you while you leisurely soak in our hot spring. Feel the sense of freedom, and savor a luxurious moment of onsen deep in the mountain. Dinner is monthly selected "Chef's special" of our master chef Ohashi. Ibaraki pref is called the “treasure chest of the food.” Come to open the chest and be delighted with the treasure. All the rooms are Japanese-style room and we prepare Japanese "futon" for beddings. Regular beds are not available, but please enjoy your Japan trip in a Japanese way.
Great Ryokan

All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the ryokan is in a great location (walking distance to shops and Fukuroda Falls). And don't miss the apple pie shop at the corner outside the ryokan!! So yummy!

Reviewed By Voyager810551ゴールデンウィーク、北関東一周する際に利用しました。 袋田の滝に近いということとお料理がおいしいという口コミからこちらの宿を利用させていただきました。 昔ながらの旅館ではありますがアットホームなおもてなしと何よりお食事がおいしくとても満足しました。 特に夕食のかぼちゃのすりながしは驚きの美味しさでした。

A little dated but it was okay for relaxation!
Reviewed By Shikataganai73The hotel is a little dated but the rooms were clean and fresh ammenities provided daily (housekeeping leaves a fresh bag on your door). I stayed for 2 days and slept quite well. Each room has a private restroom and a split unit AC. There are welcome snacks left on the table and refrigerator. Also, there is a small safe in the room for your belongings however, I did not need it since Japan is relatively honest and safe. I am not comfortable going into an onsen with many people so I waited till 1 pm when most guests have already checked out and the onsen was cleaned. I was in the onsen by myself and I loved it! There is an indoor and outdoor onsen. I prefer the outdoor onsen which was very relaxing and quiet as I looked at the trees and listened to the wind rustling its leaves. Please note that one would need to follow onsen etiquette. As for tattoos, this onsen allowed a friend of mine to enter the onsen with her tattoos...actually, she did not care if anyone noticed her tattoos, she just walked in and enjoyed the onsen even as others were present...noone made an issue of her tattoos. The buffet lunch and dinner was not as spectacular as I would have liked. Items were cold and some were bland. However, the alcohol was free and flowing...so, if you enjoy a drink, you can have some Asahi on tap, sake, and whiskey. There was also a variety of sodas, juices, coffee (iced and hot), tea and dessert. Near the dining area there is also some massage chairs that you can pay to use and a game room which has Pachinko machines, table tennis and some arcade games. On the first floor there is a Karaoke room. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. It was relaxing and quiet.

水郡線のすぐ横
Reviewed By messhi-otorin袋田の滝を観光するために、ここを利用しました。 宿泊した部屋（別館）の前に、水郡線が通っていく光景にびっくりし、その瞬間を撮影することができて、いい土産になりました。 ただし、電車の音に敏感な方は、本館の部屋にしたほうがいいかもしれません。

It is about 15 minutes on foot from Hitachi Daigo Station, about 1 minute on foot from the express bus stop and convenient transportation! From single to dormitory room, you can choose according to your situation! Please use as business base for sightseeing!

Reviewed By aico_ocia4回程お世話になっています。 部屋と布団とシャワーがあれば満足なので、値段を考えても、とても満足です。 夏の花火大会の日は、会場が目の前なので、ゲストハウスの駐車場をビアガーデンにしてくれます。トイレや帰宅の混雑などを気にする事なく、ゆっくり呑みながら楽しめます。 花火大会の日は特に人気があるので、すぐに予約が一杯になってしまうそうです。 冬は廊下にも暖房をつけてくださっているので、トイレや洗面のために部屋を出るのも苦痛になりません。ちょっとした気遣いがありがたいです。 行く度にに少しずつ改装されていて、今回はシャワー室が出来ていました。小柄なので快適に使わせていただきましたが、体の大きな方には窮屈に感じるかもしれません。 いつも朝食をいただいてますが、お米がとても美味しいのと、食堂の雰囲気が落ち着いていて好きです。 またお世話になります。

Reviewed By 2riganeb大子の観光地の代表である袋田の滝、久慈川の両方へのアクセスが便利かつ格安の宿を探して此処に泊まりました。 住宅街の中にぽつんとある、旅館と言うよりは民宿と言った感じでした。部屋も値段の割には綺麗で、最低限のアメニティーは揃っていました。部屋に後付けの物でしたが洗面台もあります。 ご飯も夕飯朝食共に女将さん手作りの煮物を中心とした和食で、名物の鮎の塩焼き、すき焼き、煮物と、とても美味しかったです。 お風呂も朝早くから夜中まで使える大浴場がありましたが、お湯が熱過ぎて入れませんでした・・・。 またお風呂、トイレ共に男女兼用で、特にお風呂は時間帯で分けている訳でも無く入る時間帯等に少し気を遣います。 周りが山に囲まれているから仕方ないのかもしれませんが、部屋に何度かムカデが出て我が家はプチパニックになりました。 部屋に冷蔵庫は無く、歩いて行ける距離には自販機しかないので、夏の季節は飲み物の用意に注意した方がいいです。宿での用意は種類が少ないです。 そんな所で星二つマイナスです・・・。
