We started our start to Christmas festivities with the Castrol magic of lights event. It was super busy as we were lined up on the road but if you purchase your ticket before hand they have a faster line onto the racetrack. The lights and music were the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. Highly recommend!!!

Beaumont is a town with a french touch and nothing in this town is more french than this little art & gift shop run by the artists themselves!
From acrylic paintings,water colored cards, essential oils,jewelry, GlassArt, decorative butterflies and birdhouses to photographs (yes, here you can find a post card with the famous church of Beaumont, Alberta), quotes on wood, wood turned pens, bowls, plates, this shop has something for everyone!

RedTail Landing is a must-play course whether you reside in Edmonton, or are just visiting Alberta. Located just moments from the south side of Edmonton at the Edmonton International Airport. This course has been masterfully crafted by the world renowned team of Puddicombe Golf with many links-style features. The Club House overlooks our state-of-the-art 19 acre learning facility that features 65,000 sq. ft. grass teeing area, five practice bunkers, three putting and two chipping greens.

This is a beautiful track. The course is in great shape and fun to play. Fairways are generous but some carries are long so play the correct tees for maximum fun. I sometimes can't carry the water from the Whites so play your handicap "tees". The course tends to be on the expensive side so enhance your value by getting there early and practicing or stay after play. Their practice facilities are the best in the areas and are better than most courses I have played around the world. The pro shop is ok as is their club house but again come here for wide open golf and excellent practice facilities. Carts have GPS and the course is walkable but I suggest you ride. There are airport and highway noise but it shouldn't bother you much.

Tried some of their spirits at the Spirits on Ice event - AMAZING. You must try the Double Double coffee liqueur, and the Garlic Vodka makes the perfect caesar!
Love that it is a completely locally owned and sourced business, not to mention the staff are incredibly friendly and informative! Definitely plan on visiting the distillery in the near future.

We traveled up to Leduc on the 31st of August to visit the Discovery Center, arriving to find it closed, and the Gate locked. Information we had on hand indicated that it should have been open, but it was not. Fortunately someone who was working in the area behind the museum came out of the locked area while we were staring at the fence, and told us that there was a pedestrian gate 50 meters or so to the right and if we wanted we could park in the camping trailer parking area next to the fence and that the gate would be open. It was - actually it was an opening in the fence.
Being from an oil producing area in Illinois from my high school days, the outdoor display was extremely interesting for me and my family. We actually spent almost 2 hours in the outside display area checking out all of the oil drilling equipment and the other larger construction machines that they have on display. It is almost 100% a hands on display, almost, and there is quite a bit of signage to assist in describing a lot of things. For someone totally uneducated in the oil drilling industry, I would, however, ask for some further explanations from someone.
Unfortunately the Museum building itself was locked down, and we were unable to see inside or discover what there was to learn from their displays, and would like to go back sometime and "see the rest".
I would consider this museum a very good learning adventure for children, and young adults alike, or for that matter, for anyone that is not familiar with the oil industry.

This is Edmonton's biggest ski hill. It can get busy when kids are out of school. The senior rate is for 55+ and an annual pass for seniors is $100; Some of the runs are sufficiently treed that you can actually forget you are not in the Mountains. One chair lift and other tow ropes and tee bars. Some steep black runs that require intermediate skill.

One of the few remaining wooden grain elevators left in pristine condition. A dedicated group of enthusiasts put in many long hours to keep this amazing piece of history alive. Still in it's original site along the Canadian Pacific line through the City of Leduc Alberta. Located just off the QE2 highway south 15 minutes from Edmonton and near the Edmonton International Airport. This historical site is a center point for many of the summer activities of this vibrant community. This is a small site and is easily walked and viewed. You can see why they used to call these structures the "Prairie Skyscraper". Contact them through their website and get a personal historic lesson of the way it once was. There are great places to eat and stay while in Leduc.

Exactly what the title says, this golf course is so overpriced it is unbelievable.
No twilight rate, Driving range isn't included in the inflated price, dirt cart paths, dead grass patches all over, highway noise, the clubhouse facilities are so old they look like they are ready to fall over. The list doesn't really end with this goat farm.
Don't waste your time and money.
