Had a lovely lunch celebrating a birthday. Food was super with friendly service, cozy fire. The free parking at centrum is a bonus. I had a fish curry... Really good ! The Thanks Janno and staff

Thursday lunch, only 5 tables occupied with ours being the largest group consisting of 5 adults. 3 of the 5 orders was wrong . The first empty plate was removed before the forth meal arrived . 10 minutes late and the last meal was served after two more plates was cleared . Food was not only wrong but poorly plated and presented. I would recommend that you go somewhere else . this just prove that even a franchise restaurant like Spur can suffer due to bad management.

After one bad experience I vowed never to go back but then decided to give them another chance. BAD idea. Staff are not more interested in their own conversations than serving people. The lady taking the orders was the only one that actually gave us her undivided attention. The food was disgusting. The chicken tasted like it had been reheated and was dry and just terrible. I will NEVER go back there again.

Such is Beef and Barrel, Owner and chef Robert Moreland has experience as a chef in some of the Western Cape’s finest hotels including the Mt Nelson, La Vita, Tulbach Hotel and Mariner’s Warf. He established Beef and Barrel in Malmesbury in 1989 …and hasn’t looked back. It’s a husband and wife team. Hesleen has been at his side since 1989 and they personally grill/fry/prepare your food while assisted by other kitchen staff – and that is why after 28 years they are still considered to have the finest seafood and steaks in the Swartland. Just arrived home frome a wonderful evening with my wife. Our waiter Marcel was the star. I am yet to experience such an informed and knowledgeable person in a restaurant! Well done Barry's!

My friend and I had a late lunch yesterday. What a fabulous experience. Great friendly service, great menu and when our food arrived, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Price is good and it certainly is a little gem of a restaurant which I can recommend to anyone who is passing through Malmesbury.

We joined in a 21st celebration at this lovely quaint restaurant. Food, service and setting can most definitely not be faulted. We will be back for the Sunday lunch!

The shop has an old school deli atmosphere and you have to love all the menus hand painted. Definitely the best fish and chips I had, the batter was crispy and the fish so fresh it was flaking! They have an amazing combo special, where you can have a bit of everything, fish, chips and calamari. I understand why there is always a line!

Child/kids friendly! The outside area has a sandpit and play area for kiddies and parents can watch their little ones play, while they relax at a nearby table with great food. Great for functions or just a night out with friends. Small enough for a dinner for two. Always awesome!
