There are two Fischwerck resto in Norderney - one a snack cafe and one a more elegant restaurant . The food in both is very good . They have many types of fish but the speciality is herring done in many different ways . Also a kaleidoscope of fried and grilled potatoes . Very good food - highly recommended .

Durch Zufall kamen wir - 3 Erwachsene mit 2 Kindern (2+5 Jahre) - am â Café am Kamin â vorbei . Nicht zuletzt durch die Kinderspeisekarte am Schaufenster entschieden wir uns spontan , dort zu Abend zu essen. Ein kleiner Spielraum für die Kids wurde natürlich gleich dankbar erobert .Aber was war das ?Die völlig genervte Chefin kam direkt auf uns zu und schnauzte die Kinder an , sie wären zu laut und es wären heute schon so viele laute Kinder da gewesen !Ich wollte zuerst garnicht glauben , was ich da hörte . Die Kinder waren keinesfalls zu laut gewesen und selbst wenn ..... dann sollte die genervte Chefin ihren Ton ihren Kunden gegenüber schnellstens überdenken und keinesfalls die Kinder anschnauzen !!!Das geht garnicht und ist uns auch noch nie passiert !Nur weil es schon so spät war , sind wir nicht sofort gegangen und haben noch dort gegessen -übrigens sehr lecker .Aber verständlicherweise war unsere Laune sehr getrübt .Dafür gab es dann auch kein Trinkgeld !Ich kann deshalb Familien mit jungen Kindern vor diesem Café mit dieser genervten Chefin nur warnen !!!

Mooi en gezellig ingerichte tavern waar je terecht kan voor een hapje en een drankje. De inrichting is zeer warm en er is ook een terras aan waar je bij mooi weer buiten kan zitten. Eten is lekker en de bediening is vriendelijk.

We arrived at around 9 PM on a weeknight. We did not have a reservation and were greeted enthusiastically nonetheless. We had their 3- and 4- course prix fixe dinners, which were memorable. They gave us a 49Euro bottle of wine in error, having told us that it was the same price as the 29 Euro bottle that we had asked for (they were out of that one). The chef came to the table to make sure that our food was just the way we wanted it. The waiter was Italian and very sweet and competent. All that for under 130 Euros (they honored the price of the wine that they quoted us).

Really great food and more than huge portions; we went there three times for dinner. We checked various types of dishes -- me the veggie dishes, partner the meat dishes -- from soups via bruschetta and pizza to pastas, and then ice creams. Everything was perfect.Couple of extra positives:-I like when the boss is around; he was there on all our evenings, greeting guests and checking out if everything was ok, helping to clear tables, if needed. He kept his eyes on everything. Well done, boss.-Once we overheard and saw when a young couple with baby buggy arrived; a waiter immediately went to them and showed the place where they can sit comfortably with the buggy.-Some icecream-wonders have really good names: Jaegerschnitzel Becher, Fruehkartoffelbecher, Einhoerchenbecher. -Enough space, nice interior, including photos from Venice cashiert on the windows.-Kitchen chefs pays attention to little details. More broadly, one has the impression that the kitchen chef does his work with passion. Well done.

We came a few times to this bar, café and restaurant right on the beach promenade of Norderney. Good breakfast and excellent coffees made our stay enjoyable. Unfortunately the two different wines which we ordered during an afternoon visit were far too warm so we had to order ice to cool it down. Is this a helpful review?
