Our guesthouse Raicho where is located in Norikura Highland, Nagano Prefecture, situated 1,500 meters above sea level and is surrounded by wonderful nature. 100% Natural hot spring (sulfurous; ‘Onsen’) is available both indoors and outdoors. Heal your body in the Onsen, and free your mind in the untouched wilderness of the Japan Northern Alps!

Reviewed By JaviGlasweyThis is a nice guesthouse with private onsen (which you can use with no extra fee!). The rooms are basic but comfortable; the beds are typical japanese style (futon on a tatami floor) and are surprisingly very comfortable. The comunal areas are very clean and modern. It does not have the backpacker atmosphere that I was expecting but it is still very nice. The location is remote (in the middle of the Japanese alps) which may make it difficult to access and but it provides with amazing views and great hiking spots. The host, Yuma, offers to pick you up from the nearest bus station, we did not need it as we had a car.

Reviewed By FrodaYao前往上高地，乘鞍高原和白骨溫泉等景點，都必須從松本市區搭松本電鐵到底站－新島島（新島々）換乘大巴，這段路程需花費約半小時，對於想多留一些時間在景區，或是要追日出的人來說，比起住在松本市區，新島島車站附近的旅館無疑更加省時～雖然新島島只能算是個接駁中心，附近機能比較陽春，但這家青年旅館佔了地利交通之便，走路到車站只要2分鐘，附近也有一家7-11可以採買食物，而且重點是便宜，提供背包客高CP值的住宿！

Great value in Matsumoto, far from train station but pick up service provided
Reviewed By AL_in_SGAccording to a regular local guest, this guesthouse is more affordable than most others in Matsumoto. It came with a price though -- being quite a distance from the train station and Matsumoto Castle. Fortunately the host was glad to pick us up from the train station and send us back after our stay. We could only spend one night there so had to give the famed castle a miss. Instead, we went to nearby Agata Forest Park where an art and craft fair was taking place. Another tricky part of its location is finding food nearby. With the help of Google Maps, we went to a noodle shop that served very good food. The place itself was very basic. The dorms were unisex and fitted with bunk beds. Shared toilets with shower were not unisex though. Perhaps we were too pampered by the ultra clean and tidy places we had stayed in Japan, this one was a notch less so. For this, I was struggling between giving a rating of 3 or 4. Eventually decided that it wouldn't have given them justice to receive a 3. After all, we did enjoy our stay there. That's what matters!
