OK but not up to the Route Inn standard
Reviewed By MunichEricJWe got room 203, with two double beds. The room was standard JP biz hotel sized, in other words small but manageable. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The room lighting was dim and the color temperature of the lighting was on the cool side. The bathroom was classic old- style biz hotel, very compact, with the sink faucet taps serving both sink and shower wand via a valve. The sink’s faucet spigot swiveled over to fill the tub. Breakfast was well below average for a Route Inn. Usually, it’s a very good breakfast but not at this location. The staff were a bit stiff, but professional. The communal bath was small but very good. Overall, below average. I suspect that most people carry on to Akita, only 40km farther, they pass Yurihonjo by and they just don’t get the traffic to invest in the place.

The onsen is a must visit during winter
Reviewed By totomai mI can't say much about the hotel but I can recommend their onsen during winter. The outdoor onsen was such a blast. I was there soaked in a hot water while the snow is falling. The way to the hotel is a bit difficult though the hotel provide pick-up. I found it to be very clean.. If you are in Akita in winter, visit this hotel and try the onsen.

Easy stay at Honjo Station
Reviewed By Stacey GThe proximity to Honjo Station made this a great option for me to stay over and catch a bus the nest day, just a short block away from the station and bus circle. The hotel accommodated my write-in request for a non-smoking room, even though that was the only option when booking. The staff were all very friendly. Room was clean and A/C was adjustable down to a nice cool level. There are several restaurants and a 7-11 within a block or two. The free breakfast buffet had nice variety and was meticulously attended/restocked. It's not the most up-to-date hotel, but typical of a economical Japanese business hotel.
