Our first dining experience on Dutch soil, and a great one it was too! Lovely Uitsmijter, delicious Kroket, and a great beer selection. Wait staff very helpful and friendly - highly recommended!

This modern corner café has large windows on both sides, creating a light and airy environment even in winter. The interior has a bric-a-brac furniture seating evoking a homy atmosphere around a counter displaying the various foods on offer. The owners applied many thoughtful touches, such as a flavored water cooler for patrons to freely draw from. This is a great place to hang out for coffee or tea and cakes, but you can also compose a full lunch out of the daily quiche and salad specials. Everything we tasted was fresh and excellently prepared and served with a smile.

This place is something special. Pizza like youâve never tasted it before (for example pizza with pumpkin and hazelnuts, so delicious - who knew!). Real wood fired oven, locally sourced ingredients. Delicious side dishes as well. The staff are super relaxed, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend it.

In the background of the well known church and some steps from the Grote market place, just need to discover a very nice cafe and brocante place to slow down for a rest. Like the old times with very good fresh homemake cakes in a nice atmosphere inside and outsides. Just besides a brocate shop which needs to discover. Every time to recommand.

We visited the Blonde Pater recently during a brief World War Two Battlefields Tour stay in the Wolfheze area. We arrived at about lunchtime, and the cafe was really busy - barely a spare seat to be had! In fact, the whole street and area seemed to be heaving, and really thronged with people. We did manage to find a couple of seats outside, and the cafe proved to be a splendid place to people watch, and observe the comings and goings in a busy Dutch city. The service seemed quite slow, but this was probably inevitable given the fact that the cafe was pretty full. After a couple of beers, we ate some scrambled eggs on toast, which proved to be quite tasty, and attractively presented, with the eggs being mixed with various herbs and other greenery. All in all, the Blonde Pater provided us with a very enjoyable experience, in a lovely cosmopolitan location. This central part of the city is certainly well worth a visit!Dear Adrian,Thank you so much for the review. The Blaauwe Hand is truly world class. The bar keepers are very knowledgeable and are more than happy to make suggestions. They have a good variety of local and regional beers from the Netherlands and Belgium. The food is homemade and tastes great. There's nothing quite like having a few at this place, with the beer served properly, in its proper glass. The afternoon and evening just fly by.
