Had the bagel with lox and capers. Bagel was not toasted. Should have specified. So it was pretty doughy.Lox was good, capers were good.Had coffee and freshly squeezed OJ. Coffee was weak. I think it was instant. OJ was delicious.A so-so experience.

It's not just that K Raye is super-friendly accommodating and very interested in her guests that makes this the best pub in Costa Rica. It's the views overlooking the valley in the ocean. Several mush tree canopies with howler monkeys and other species of monkeys hanging from the vines and interacting with guests from afar. It's also that on Sundays you get the taste of live music and folks come up from everywhere Costa Rica together for drinks and music. Biergarten has incredible views under a rustic canopy. K Rae's place has beautifully kept Gardens with coconut trees. If you're lucky and agile she may let you borrow her machete and retrieve your own coconut. This is a great place for a meal and drink, get to know the local area away from the town of nosara.The pub is situated off the beaten path way up the mountain keep going there are signs that will let you know that you still have some distance to go every time you begin to think you've gone too far. Look for those signs it's a little out of the way but it is totally worth it this place is a gem.I stayed at the Buddha hotel in San Juanillo, surfed in mar bella then Guiones and made it a point to come hereHello Monica! Love this place. One of the best burgers I've ever had.. no doubt. Fries are "wedges" and not only huge, but plentiful. Oh, burger is massive too. Service however, is mediocre at best. Been 3 times with the same experience. It's a simple place, so DON'T let the service stop you from going. The food is worth it. Price is commensurate with the quality and portion size (yes, like $18 for burger and fries). No hesitation from us paying the premium.

I had the pleasure of visiting this hotel and restaurant during the low season in Costa Rica. I've been to many places and stayed in many hotels and the thing that stands out the most for me with this place is the staff. Visiting another country can often be challenging because we're used to certain standards of service. What made the difference here is that the staff was amazing and was always up to the task of providing whatever we needed. The food was another lovely surprise! we enjoyed fresh whole fish roasted in the oven with vegetables. Fresh smoothies every morning made to order . The beds we're so comfortable.Some people like to complain about there being insects around the premises of hotels that happened to be in tropical climates. Here's a tip - turn on your air conditioning and bring mosquito repellent :)We had a cold,mini split providing a.c. and Roger gave us mosquito repellant! local Surfers confirmed the direction of secret beaches just four minutes away. The staff helped us rent surfboards and find out where we could also rent ATVs. Yes it was rainy but if you're a surfer you know that rain brings the best waves. The Buddha is located in a perfect spot between Marbella and Nosara there are several beaches along the coastline not listed in Surfline or Magicseaweed where some of the best surf can be found.We stayed at the Buddha hotel and restaurant by accident. However it was one of the best experiences in my Costa Rica Adventure.

This place was not here last time we visited. Guessing it is fairly new. The tables that sit above the beach provide great views and much needed shade after time on the beach. The service was prompt and friendly. Prices were reasonable and the food was good.
