The camping-area is located next to the river Indalsalven and Ristafallet waterfall. On the campsite there are 23 pitches and 8 cabins. The cabins have a shared bathroom and are suitable for 4 persons.

Reviewed By DamiennDYou find Ristafallet Camping between Järpen (7 km) and Åre (17 km) close to the E14 road. You can set up your tent, park your caravan/camper or rent a cabin on site. We rented a cottage for five days on this charming, relaxed camping. Besides the beds, a table and chairs we found an electric cooker and a refrigerator. We could take a shower and go to the bathroom at the service house, eqipped with toilet paper (which many other campings do not provide) and paper towels. There were also a kitchen with all kind of household equipment you’d ever need, including microwave ovens, a washing machine and a dryer. So much household equipment I could only find in better hotel apartments. For a camping it was really impressing. But what was even more impressing and made our stay there even more pleasurable was the hosts, a nice couple who run the camping. They were very kind and helpful. For all these reasons I can wholeheartedly recommend Ristafallet Camping for all who visit the nearby waterfalls (mainly Ristafallet, right at this camping) and Sweden’s biggest waterfall Tännforsen 44 km on E14 westward. There are also many hiking trails, tourist attractions and beautiful sights, among them snow covered mountain tops even during summer. This camping is also an ideal starting point to everything you want to see and experiment in the Åre-area.

Awesome Boutique Hotell!

Started with exceptional service at check-in after arriving with the night train. Ida with her hospitality made check-in super easy and invited us to their gorgeous breakfast buffet, with is a MUST - Best start of any day! Shaz with his kindness made sure our room stood ready and ready to assist with any request. Albin, our attentive host at dinner, not to mention the amazing meal made with local ingredients by Fjällsätras chef! Don't forget to book a self-care session with Sibylla who offers Ayurveda massage. Last my not least, the outdoor sauna with a huge glass window to enjoy the views! Needless to say, this gem, perfectly located between Åre and the mountains, provides a stay with plenty of opportunities to enjoy your stay! Thank you Willie & My for transforming this historical building to the beautiful boutique hotel it is today. We will be back!

Reviewed By Vynce12The apartments are in a very charming old farm with a nice garden and a view on the lake, just a few minutes walk to the center of Åre. The woman working there was very nice and helpful. The apartment was very clean and confortable, recently refurbished, with a big and confortable bed. Perfect place to stay for a family or a group of friends.

The most breathtaking view
Reviewed By DesideaOttsjö might be one of the most beautiful villages in the Swedish mountains. The village is located on the northern side of the lake, giving a spectacular view of Ottsjö mountain and the best possible use of the sunlight. Ottsjö Fjällhotell is located in the middle of the village. Every time I have visited the hotel, I have fallen in love with the view. The huge windows in the dining room shows the best of the fields and forests leading down to the lake, and the mountain towering on the other side of the lake. The food has been a pleasant surprise. Mostly local produce is used and the Christmas Eve buffet is a highlight. Ottsjö is located in between Åre and Vålådalen, and is a good place to stay when visiting the mountains in both winter and summer. The hiking trails in the area ranges from family-friendly half- and full-day hikes, to longer hiking ranges such as the popular Jämtlandstriangeln, a three-day hike. During the winter the skiing is among the best in Sweden, with several slopes and resorts nearby. Åre is the most famous, but the smaller spots such as Trillevallen, Edsåsdalen and the hidden and hard to reach Vita Renen are well worth a visit. On the downside, it is a bit difficult to manage to book a room, but once you get to the hotel it is worth it. During bigger event, such as the hugely popular Christmas Eve buffet, it is important to not be in a rush. The food is plentiful, but it will take some time until all of it is out and everyone has gotten their ordered drinks. But with a great selection of local beer and food and the most beautiful view a restaurant could possible have there is no reason to rush. I have been to Ottsjö and Ottsjö Fjällhotell several times and am already looking forward to my next stay there.

Reviewed By Flygar-ElsaMycket fräsch lägenhet med fullt utrustat kök och bastu i samband med badrummet. Extra toalett sidan om badrummet. Väldisponerat och genomtänkt layout. 1-2km från själva hotellet med motlut upp till lägenheterna. Bra balkong med sittmöbler och utsikt.
