Walked along the new wharf from our cruise ship looking for somewhere to try a true Vietnamese coffee, and found 3 Vins on the main road. We were greeted warmly by the owner,Ta Xuan Dong and seated outside. We enjoyed the experience of learning how Vietnamese coffee is made, and it's strong and delicious taste. A refreshing cold tea was provided. The owner told us that this was the first restaurant in Halong Bay serving Western/European food and wines. Really enjoyed our meal here. Visited with our 4, 9 & 10 year old and the buffet had something for everyone. I filled up on traditional Vietnamese fare (really loved delicious mooli salad), my husband favoured the Chinese takeaway favourite black pepper steak, and the children ate various pastas and sushis. We paid in advance for the buffet which included water, but paid extra for beer which wasn't particularly expensive.

Visited restaurant following trip advisor reviews, very quite only one other table when we visited. More cafe style, lots of seafood but as a vegetarian I ended up with wok fried noodles with vegetables again. Husband tried authentic Vietnamese broth with oysters which wasnât to his taste.

Our private local guide brought us to Avacado to grab a drink on our way to the airport. We were so glad he did! This restaurant/bar is spacious and decorated very modern/industrial. Loved it! It's very clean and the service was outstanding. But best of all, we had heard locals talking about egg coffee/cappuccino but could not get it outside of Hanoi. Come to find out, the lovely owner, Vi, of this place came here from Hanoi! She was able to get her bartender to make us egg cappuccinos off her secret menu!! Absolutely delicious!
