Absolutely fantastic food. Small sharing plates done with thought and care. Excellent vegetarian selection. Lovely service that was balanced between attentive and leaving us to eat. We were travelling through and it was close to our hotel, but would be willing to coordinate future travel plans to include eating here again.

Lovely selection of buffet style Chinese and Mongolian food. My favourite is the section of fresh ingredients, which are then cooked in front of you. Excellent selection of different sauces to add to ones individual food choices. Amazing choices for desserts from ice cream via profiteroles to a chocolate fountain to dip fresh fruit into. The restaurant is very spacious, which made our visit much easier due to the wheelchair user in our group.

Früher war dieser Chinese mal ein sehr guter Laden. Seit ca. 30 Jahre sind wir immer gerne in dieses Restaurant gegangen. Leider fängt man hier neuerdings auch an, am Gast zu sparen. Die GröÃte der Portionen - insbesondere der Rind- und Entenfleischanteil - hat stark abgenommen. Die Freundlichkeit leider auch. Dieses "Design-to-Cost" habe ich schon bei manchem asiatischen Restaurant erlebt. Allerdings ist dies nie gut für das Restaurant ausgegangen. Wir habe es jedenfalls von unserer Liste genommen.

Dumplings and craft beers - that has to be a concept for a heavenly experience. Thatâs what I thought when I first saw the descriptions and reviews of this cute little restaurant. It also sounded too good to be true - home made âjiaoziâ (=dumplings) in Dortmund? Once I visited the place it lived up to all of my expectations. I havenât had this good dumplings since I lived in Beijing - that was just 8-9 weeks but taught me the love for the combination of good dumplings and good beer (yes, the Chinese may not all eat their dumplings with beer but my Northern European descent demands a cold beer with a tasty meal). This place is an absolute gem - the pan fried and steamed dumplings, and various noodle dishes combined with an excellent (and apparently constantly changing and upgraded) beer menu is a perfect recipe for an evening with friends. I loved especially the pan fried lamb dumplings with spring onions, the beef dumplings with green celery and the noodles with chicken, chili, garlic, soy sauce and spring onion. We also tried the cucumber with shill and stoic as starter on our first visit. So far we have only been here twice but being determined to work our way through the beer menu, (and the dumplings menu) we will be back for more soon again.We love good food and good beer as well! So why not share it with people like you! We are happy when people love our food and feel happy to be our guest! Thanks for the compliments!

I've been coming here ever since I discovered this place. It used to be one of those standard buffet Asian places, but now it has a distinct new Vietnamese flavour. I travel between continents quite a bit but I'm actually looking forward to coming to Schwerte JUST to eat at SOMA!Service is GREAT. With a smile the staff remembers my favourite drink and delivers extra hot sauce.Ambience? I personally LOVE it. The place is large enough to have one's privacy and also offers the option of sitting on the outside patio.But what really draws me back is the FOOD. Somehow the cook manages to get that certain flavour into the dish that I can't seem to find in other German or in Canadian Asian restaurants. I can't wait to back in Schwerte ;-)

Went for a wedding meal with 20 people. My friend the bride had pre-booked, and asked atbthe time of booking as well whether buffet was available also for lunch (as they do only in the evening). On the day we were informed that buffet was not possible, only a la carte - possibly a misunderstanding, because even when trying to clarify at the end of the meal, the owner did not seem to understand fully.Orders were taken not all at once, and food was brought out not at the same time for all - some of our party were finished, before the last ones got their main.My soup was only warm, and the main (fried fish) was ok but not great. There was not a lot of meat in the meat dishes.On the positive - nice decoration, and prices were reasonable.This is probably a good place to go for a buffet, but not for an a-la-carte meal with a big party.
