Ich komme schon seit Jahrzehnten immer wieder in dieses Restaurant. Auch nach dem Besitzerwechsel vor einigen Jahren hat sich das Lokal kaum verändert - und das meine ich positiv.Das Lokal selbst ist ganz gemütlich eingerichtet, zentraler Punkt ist ein groÃes Wasserrad in der Mitte, welches beruhigend vor sich hin plätschert. Die Tische sind schön eingedeckt und der Service (meist der Chef selbst) ohne Makel.Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an Balkanspezialitäten, dazu Grillgerichte und vor allem gute Steaks. Ein Salatbuffet rundet die Sache ab. Wie gesagt, alles ohne Fehl & Tadel. Komme gerne, auch mit Geschäftspartnern.

This place is special not only because it has a diningroom room that was decorated with much care and a pretty outside area, but because you can also buy many if the ingredients of which the dishes are made. There is also a shop upstairs where one can buy extraordinary gifts.

Visited here on an overnight stay in Dortmund. They cater for tourists by having English menus available. Price are a bit on the steep side but then again you get what you pay for. I had steak and couldnât fault any part of it. Service is prompt and waiters speak pretty good English too. I would definitely try some of the other items on my next visit.

Hier wird der Gyrosspiess nicht TK. vom GroÃhandel bezogen, sondern aus frischem Fleisch vom Chef selbst gefertigt. Alles auf dem Teller ist immer frisch und lecker gewürzt. Obwohl das Grillhaus eher ein Imbiss ist,sind die Speisen nicht überfettet. Wirklich empfehlenswerter "Grieche".

I revisited Haus Mersmann with the same friends, and again ordered the house specialty â the schnitzel. This time I ordered the usual schnitzel with grilled onions, and asked for Jaeger Sauce (dark gravy with mushrooms) on the side, which was an excellent addition. The salads were fresh, varied and tasty. The accompanying pommes frites were properly done, American-style and ketchup was provided without sniggering when requested. I also had an appetizer bowl of very good tomato soup, served with thinly sliced rye. The only glitch was no butter for the rye bread slices, the explanation being that the only butter was Krauter butter (already seasoned with herbs). Otherwise, it was enjoyable and a very satisfying dinner experience.

My husband, two children and I had dinner at Olckenturm with my husband's German colleague and his wife. We were greeted in both German and English by the young waitress, who also gave us English menus and helped to explain the dishes. Initially we were seated outdoors, which was pleasant, though the bugs were a nuisance. However, we moved indoors as a thunderstorm settled in. The restaurant is actually built into part of the old city wall, which was pretty cool. It was not very busy (we were there on a weeknight), and we had very attentive service. Our dinners were all fairly traditional German meals--quite heavy, and a bit saltier than we prefer. More vegetables and some lighter options would have been nice, but I suspect on a cold winter's night, this fare would really hit the spot!All in all, a good experience.

Haus Hilleringmann ist so etwas wie ein Geheimtipp in Unna. Es liegt einerseits direkt an einer StraÃe, ist aber andererseits wiederum so abgeschirmt, dass das überhaupt nicht stört. Die gemütliche Atmosphäre innen setzt sich besonders im Biergarten fort, den man an warmen Sommerabenden am liebsten gar nicht mehr verlassen würde. Das Essen ist gutbürgerlich, die Speisekarte nicht überladen; man isst also gut uns frisch hier. Auch die Wirtsleute und das Personal scheint hier gern tätid; wir haben noch nie ein gelangweiltes Gesicht gesehen oder einen unfreundlichen Ton gehört.Wir treffen uns hier gern mit Freunden zum Essen und Reden und haben uns hier immer sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt!

We enjoyed the modern look, the service and the excellent food. I donât speak German but thankfully the restaurant had a menu in English and the servers spoke some English too. We had the three course meal which was accompanied by several amuse bouches. I particularly enjoyed the rabbit raghu. Our American credit cards didnât work with the table side credit card reader but the machine at the front desk did the trick.

I had the Veal with Asparagus, boiled potatoes and hollandaise. The meal was good, well cooked, tasty, in fact very good. But I drink tap water with my meals, not mineral water but tap water. Last night I was the designated driver. So no alcohol! My kidneys and I don't like sweet drinks or mineral water. I drink tap water with my meals, I want tap water. My two work colleagues got 0.5 litre Haus beer. I asked for a small mineral water and tap water. I got one small 0.2 tap water and a bottle of mineral water (no second glass). Really!!!!! Why didn't you give me a large glass tap water? My two work colleagues were really happy with their food and beer.
