Found this place last year and came back this year. Best pizza ANYWHERE! This restaurant is always loaded, especially with Italians. The calamari is incredible too. We own a Summer home in Laže just a short drive away and we come here every chance we get!!

This restaurant was recommended by a male friend, so I wasn't surprised by the gigantic meat portions they offer. Everything else was disappointing. We waited 15 minutes for the staff to spot us, even though the place was almost empty. When I asked for my leftovers to be packed to go, the waitress brought tin foil and left it on the table for me to pack the food myself. I felt like I was transported 30 years back in time and it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

Located in the historic route I of original Orient express train, this place advertise aggressIvely on the surrounding roads and on the parking lot of Å kocjine Jame. Despite the heavy advertisement this place is nice, cosy and friendly and the food is good. It has a free spacious parking and a kids playground so it is ideal for a rest after your cave visit.

We stopped here for a meal on the way from Lipica, this place looks the best out of the 5 restaurants which are all next to each other. The waiter must not like his job very much because he did not care at all. Ended up getting my own salt pepper, etc.. Food taste was average, by far the worst we had on our holiday. Speed was ok. They put steak tartare on our table which did not taste good and I thought was on the house (we didn't eat it) and then there was a 1 Euro per head charge on the bill for something, I guess this.

In this part of Slovenia there are many quite good and famous restaurants. But probably most balanced and completely perfect is restaurant Grahor in Dane close to Sezana. Superb cuisine and nice staff. Good atmosphere in combination with fine food - worth diverting from motorway.

If you want to eat typical tuscan food in Trieste area, Al Toscano is THE place. It is located on a steep road connecting OpÄine and Trst. The easiest way to get there is going down from Obelisco, against all signs. Tuscan antipasti with sheep cheese, salamini, papa al pomodoro, florentine steak, risotto with asparagi... everything is excellent. And again, it's better to listen what the offer than to read the menue. Wine list includes some fine Supertuscans but also moderate priced Nobile and Brunello.
