Our atmosphere and decor are unique to De Haan: a warm, rural look combined with clean, modern decor. Everyone is welcome here and it has become renowned for its delicious, fresh, home-made dishes, coffee, fresh pancakes and waffles and friendly service.

und ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sprechen für die Brasserie des Hotel Astel.Wir sind ziemlich früh gekommen und so konnten wir uns den schönen Eckplatz am Fenster sichern. Das gut und frisch gezapfte Bier schmeckte groÃartig. Wir bestellten Biergulasch und Scholle mit Fritten, beide Gerichte in ihrer Frische und Zubereitung mundeten uns ausgezeichnet. Einen Besuch können wir jederzeit uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

I would start by highlighting that during the summer this place is always full independently to the daytime. I and my girlfriend visited this place two times during our short-term vacation in De Haan. We came back because we enjoyed our first everything but unfortunately the second one was not as good. The quality of the food mainly depends on the choice. Paname has wonderful mussels but disappointing fish and pasta dishes. The service is okay, not very charming or welcoming, but it is understandable since there are a lot of people coming every day. P.S. For Hoegaarden Rose fans, the good news is that is sold here at the price of 2.7 euros which is the lowest in restaurants of De Haan.

This is the best place to drink beer in De Haan, according to Tim Webb and Jo Stange, in their Beer Guide to Belgium. The taps (van 't vat) had little to get excited about: Leffe and Jupiler and possibly Hoegaarden. The bottled beer list was very good, however, with the Westmalle Tripel and the Orval on good form. Service was friendly and very prompt- I didn't have to work at all hard to get the waitress's eye. They served home made food, but we were only interested in the beer.

Lovely beach bar on the northern part of De Haan beach. Service is friendly and there is a wide selection of refreshments to choose from. The bar provides beach toys for the little ones to keep them busy during the stay. What's not to like when you can dig a large hole in the "floor" whilst enjoying a juice. Great little watering hole ON the beach.

A great spot to stop for coffee - not so sure about the cake!We rested here while waiting for a tram. Great view of this part of town - outdoor seating - very clean (nice toliets!).We ordered Iced Coffee and cake. The iced coffee came with cream we specifically asked to not have. The cake was a bit dry and boring. However, it was all glitzed up with 'party effects' and looked like an event! We appreciated the presentation.Service was a bit slow and haphazard. A whacking service charge was added to the bill. Not sure if it was overall good value for money - but I would probably go back and try the main menu.Thank you for the review. It is not always clear to us what you mean, but we mainly remember that you are likely to come back. Always welcome !
