Ruine Hochburg

This is a ruin of what must have been a pretty huge and impressive castle in its heydays. The kids loved to roam around and we adults enjoyed learning about its history and the gorgeous view! It seems it's just starting to be actively cared for by a non-profit, so I'm guessing there will soon be more to see and learn.
There is the smallest of small museums down below one of the upper buildings, which we were lucky enough to see because of a private tour we stumbled upon. And there is a 'medieval-themed' restaurant that can be rented for events that looked pretty cool!
We stayed for quite a while and enjoyed our visit.

Burgruine Landeck

Reviewed By Yair K - Giv'atayim, Israel

Unlike many other places, this castle is not reconstructed yet so it looks more authentic than many other Castles. But that means that there is less to see, not all area are safe and accessible to the public.
I hope that in the near future they will invest more in reconstructions and maintenance of the site to make it much nicer and interesting.
Entrance is free and so is parking, just near the entrance to the ruins.
I would recommend visiting the ruins is you are in the area (for example if you visit the ruins of Hochburg Castle), but I don't think it's worth planning a trip especially to this site.

Theater im Steinbruch

Reviewed By Lentuk - Hohenlohe

Shamrock Emmendingen

Reviewed By Inga P - Whitehorse, Canada

We stumbled up this Irish pub late on Saturday evening. The place has 2 rooms. The front one is a regular bar, the back room - equally large - has a stage and dance floor/ We happened upon the monthly karaoke night. What a riot. The DJ spun the disks and provided a duet or two for the singers. Some were clearly regulars while others like us happened upon this spot. The karaoke singers featured some great voices and some that had a lot of fun. The guests were in the mood for a fun party and so it was.
Even though there was only one staff serving both rooms, she did an amazing job keeping everyone supplied and in good humour.
We left at 2:30 in the morning and the place was still going strong.
What a great night!
