With two friends and pre-booked visited for the first time for perhaps ten years. Decoration is a little drab but the service was friendly and whilst busy dishes were delivered in a timely manner. Typical Chinese selection of dishes for a la carte menu though my wife and I had the Set Menu no 2, good value at £29.90 each. Everything well presented and cooked and delicious though in no way outstanding but with drinks and a tip good value at some £35 each. Toilets on the same level, including a disabled and un-restricted parking right outside.

We miss the excellent restaurant, but the food from the new take-away at The Great Wall is just as good as ever, and Shirley is still a wonderful lady. We have always loved the spare ribs.

Bit did not blow my socks offBut itâs very very busy so not somewhere where you get a great meal but you do get a reasonably priced good mealOrdered 3 diff dishes which were all lovely but sadly all exactly the sameNo complaints but waitress should have said they were similar Bill was 65 per couple and I left stuffed and a few beers in as well so great value for moneySo for a good Thai meal this is perfect but if you love Thai food and want something special then Hertfordshire does not seem to have one and I have searched hardSuggestions welcomed But had a good night so no real complaints

Went there to enquire about take away food to find out that they have temporarily suspended the food side of the business until separate premises for the restaurant have been found.Plan to open in March 2019 as I understand it, which will be very nice as their food is said to be excellent.

We were looking for somewhere for a Saturday evening meal while staying at Hatfield House and found the Golden Elephant. So glad we did. The food was excellent, service swift, efficient and friendly and everything reasonably priced. Many of the others customers were obviously regulars which is always a good sign. If you don't know the area it's a bit hard to find as the satnav takes you up the side street to the back gate which you can't get through. It's off the High Street, opposite St Helen's Church but DON'T go up Granary Close, go up the drive next to the white house with black paint about 20 feet away and this will take you into the private car park. It's a pity we don't live closer as it's well worth a visit.
