Igalamela Guest House

Igalamela/OdoluHotel review

Reviewed By Steve C

Guys, i am not normally the kind of person to blow someones trumpet especially when there's nothing in it for me. But, when u see a good thing, it doesnt hurt to say it. This igalamela/odolu hotel has undergone a massive make over. This is the best hotel for now in idah-I will tell you that for free. It is located about 400m after the Polytechnic's second gate as you go into town. Cheers!

Fantastic service

Reviewed By marthahN9787TF

Christian, our beach concierge and Alex, our bar service extraordinaire, made our visit to Beloved Playa Mujeres the most wonderful trip. They were both very attentive and anticipated our every need. The entire staff made us feel very well taken care of. The grounds and facilities were immaculate with special care taken for COVID precautions. (I actually felt safer here than in my hometown in TX because of their diligence to COVID prevention). Thank you to all who made our stay special: Alejandro-best breakfast waiter ever! Jose-amazing chef Karla and Viridiana-beautiful smiles greeting us every morning offering the friendliest service we could imagine Christian and Alex-Our beach days would not have been so wonderful without your attention to detail The Beloved is one of the most peaceful, pristine, relaxing resorts we have ever been to. We look forward to returning again soon. Mark and Martha Houghteling

Heavenly

Reviewed By JohnnyWesy

It was a wonderful experience filled with joy and rest. Coming from the United States, I and my family had low hopes of a good reservation in Nigeria. But to our surprise it not only exceeded our expectations but meet up with international standard used in the United States and Europe in general.A wonderful experience I would love to repeat many times.

Typical Nigerian metropolitan hotel - unimpressed

Reviewed By Steffen K

While this might be an acceptable place for many Nigerians, for western businessmen, it still has a long way to go. While the price seems reasonable, you get what you pay for and as is often the case in Nigerian towns, there are issues with the quality of service and general atmosphere. The room I had was pretty large but the furniture was second grade, like the cabinet door holding the fridge was half off its hinges. The bathroom door would not close properly because the door would not fit in its frame! There was no glass on the bathroom window, only steel gauze which thankfully kept out mosquitoes which were poisoned by insect killer sprayed liberally before guests arrived. The bathroom was tiny with no hooks or railings at all. The Wifi worked most of the time and the air conditioning was good. I had to request a light bulb to be replaced as did others in our party. Although the rooms were clean, the finish on the decor and painting was the usual scrappy poor quality. Being relatively close to busy roads it's quite noisy but I always take ear plugs. Staff tried to be helpful but one can see they are not used to serving more sophisticated guests. Service in the restaurant was poor with a restricted Nigerian-only menu, and others in the party had to wait ages for their dinner so I opted not to bother. There is not much choice in Lokoja but is probably as good as it gets in the area.
