Cafe Jade is one of the recommended restaurants in the Cañada area of Palenque. Couldnât figure out why it was so full except that there arenât many other options that are any better. Food is ok. I had a decent vegetable tomato soup. Guacamole was plentiful but bland...a little hot sauce helped. Enchiladas with mushrooms & chipoline were good but a bit soggy on the bottom.

We stayed at the Hotel Maya Tulipanes from 15 to 19 February 2014 with two other couples. Initially we chose the Bambu because of itâs convience - we kept coming back because of the quality, selection and service. We ate breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks here over this period......although the T/A format forces me to only chose one category....In fact, on our last day in Palenque, we felt that we really should try another restaruant in the little Canada area, but, decided to stay with the Bambu - because we really liked it. Since there were six of us, we tried a great many of thier dishes. The menu has a wide variety of US/European and Mexican - something for all tastes. The staff were attentive and fun. In the five days that the six of us ate at the Bambu, we never had a disappointing meal.Although we are not big drinkers, we did order a few PinaColadas (both with and without alcohol) and they were great!

I cannot understand the very good reviews. We also stayed at the hotel and were happy with that (separate review), and without a car we were bound to also eat here. Staff was very friendly, but on all evenings many items were just not available, e.g. the praised beef with mushroom sauce or any kind of duck dish. So it was not easy to order something that interested us on 3-4 occasions...Finally, on the last evening the beef was available, and it was really good.The salsas were OK, but nothing really special, and always the same. Guacamole was good, as was the ice-cold beer. The Margerita is a desaster, skip it.

This is a 2nd floor restaurant and bar located at the center of Palenque. Very good atmosphere and prompt service. The steaks are very good and not too much pricy. You may order 1kg, 500gr, 250gr for various cuts. There are also chorizos and other local food, also various types of seafood. They serve many types of beer from drought or botarle. Great place for dinner.
