On January 1, 2007, La Hulpe had a total population of 7,309. The total area is 15.60 km², including 3 km² of the Sonian Forest; this gives a population density of 463 inhabitants per km².

For some years La Hulpe was without a Friterie, then Thib opened at the station, sadly it got moved on to its current location which strictly speaking is in Genval. It has plenty of space to sit outside in good weather, and plenty of parking at the Mazzarine. Portions are generous and the frittes are delicious and melt in the mouth. If you can think of something you shouldn't be eating you'll proably find it there.

The range of dishes is much as you would expect from a takeaway, the Durums are excellent. There is space to eat in as well. It can get quite busy so it is a good idea to phone an order in if you know what you want. A cheerful staff ready to adapt to your requests. Parking can be difficult during the day, but usually space can be found next to the Smurf roundabout.
