De naam Kossie bestaat gelukkig niet meer, maar de keuken is nog steds slecht, ook nu het de Brasserie heet. Onlangs is de tent overgenomen maar het is er nog beter opmgeworden.

This was one of the first places we went on a date after the birth of our son, thanks to a friend's recommendation and a gift card we got from our wedding in July 2017. I instantly fell in love with everything about this restaurant. It's quaint attic space, the small details, the cozy atmosphere were especially wonderful for me as a Canadian. It is rare to find a place like this at home so I truly enjoyed every moment. The staff was super friendly, the food was DELICIOUS and the prices were definitely agreeable. We ordered everything we could possibly think of (several starters, main dishes, the biggest steak and several drinks each) and it cost â¬75. Right in the center of Alkmaar, it made for a great date night. There is no doubt I will go back to this restaurant, hopefully sooner than later.Thanks for all those compliments! We enjoyed a lovely meal with the four of us. Service was good, decor tastful and the starters and mains were delicious. Dessert of eclair was a bit dull, but the ipa beer was lovely. Highlight was the porterhouse steak for two, succulent !Bedankt Dave voor de review! Fijn dat jullie hebben genoten van de Porterhouse steak en de Ipa's! I've been to Heeren van Sonoy 3 different times, and the evening has always been delightful. The owner is very friendly, speaks Dutch, English and German, and welcomes everyone personally to the restaurant. The menu and specials are seasonal and delicious, from Corn Chowder in the winter to Venison in the fall. The dining room is large but quiet, so is good for business or pleasure.
