Il Collesseo is a small Italian restaurant in Alkmaar, but one of my favorite! You can eat lunch or diner or just visit it for a cup of tea or coffee. The food is great and not expensive at all. Service is kind. The only thing is that they don't serve pizza's, so just visit this restaurant if you are in to a good pasta!

In Alkmaar on cheese market day and the place was buzzing. Sunny blue skies. Great atmosphere sitting at Portofino on the terrace overlooking the canal and canal boats. Service was excellent and pizza was just perfect. My husbandâs wheelchair was no problem.

Wooow this is a nice place! I coincidently walked in for a quick dinner and was amazed by the nice atmosphere, cute decoration and friendly waitress. The choice of pizzas is amazing. I went for ham and white truffle, which is really, really, really good. It was served very quick, which is pleasant when dining alone. Had a nice Italian beer with it, and my dinner was perfect. I'm in Alkmaar quite often for work and this is my new number one place for dinner. Love it!!

We had a very nice evening at Mamma Peppino last week. This is not your average restaurant. No, this is not a Pizzeria. This is like eating with an Italian family in their own dining room! Mischa, the hostess welcomed us and explained the concept to us. First we got treated on a good selection of antipasti, like bruschetta, cheese, salamis and grilled vegetables. After that Chef Peppino came and explained what he had freshly bought that day. I chose to have pasta with slivers of veal. My wife had a very nice risotto. All very tasty and well presented.The wine and desert was good and the overall atmosphere was one of warmth and familiarity.We will return for sure and I would recommend my friends to check out Mamma Peppino. The place to be if you are looking for something different.We will return!

What we experienced in this restaurant is beyond any acceptable level. Until our presence had been noticed i took already quite a while. The drinks took as long as in a normal restaurant the food does. After about forty minutes since ordering a wrong salad came. Usually the personel would say sorry and look that everrhing goes smoothly from that point. Instead we kept on waiting. After our wish to pay the drinks and go we got a promise that our food comes within a minute. The tomato salad then came. After that was eaten up the pizzas were still missing. In my entire life I never had to leave a restaurant due to such a bad service. Montagne was my premiere in that matter.Ok an excuse might be that it was understaffed. But even then the staff can take measures to avoid such situations. There are much better options than the Montagne in Bergen. Don't waste your time.

Indeed a true Italian restaurant, with proper antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci. Not a very extensive menu, but all dishes are made fresh. Bread served is a bit old, and not of the right quality.We had carpaccio of veal and beef. Nice and tender. Well prepared. This was followed by risotto (indeed good risotto, not the standard reboiled rice you normally get) and ravioli. Finally some gambas (which were not cleaned, however no bowl of water was served to clean your hands...) and fish 5 (well prepared). They had some very nice matching wines with it, served in small glasses so possible to drive back.Overall very nice price/quality.
