I went to this restaurant with my girfriend last Saturday....the place is nice inside, the service was good as well as the food...we ordered some apetisers and two pizzas, everything was delicious...the only upside was that we had to wait long time before having the pizzas...

I was extremely lucky to be introduced to this hidden gem by a friend and had returned three times in 10 days since.The owner is incredibly friendly, the food fresh, healthy and reasonably priced.I am a vegetarian. Although their specialty is meat, there are many veggie dishes on the menu. I have tried the "nonna Consiglia" antipasti (fresh local produce, a selection of cheeses including fried ricotta (a first time for me). For main meal I have had lentils, peas and chicory. The portions are very generous. Everything I've tasted was delicious, no fault. My friends had meat and they all seemed very pleased with their choices. The meal usually ends with homemade liquors offered by the house. If you're lucky as we were Tania (the owner) will sit down and have a lovely chat with you.

Capitan Morgan is an institution on the Adriatic coast of Salento. It is a very basic eatery, with excellent fresh seafood (most fish restaurants in the area only serve from frozen). The prices are competitive, even slightly cheaper than most others. The ambiance is very, very basic. I noticed that some reviews have complained about the abundance of single use plastic. I think this is a fair complaint and something Capitan Morgan should think about.
