So glad I stumbled upon this hidden gem in Tuscany with my boyfriend during our vacation in Italia last week. The wine bar is at the Querceto di Castellina winery and overlooks their vineyards, and the view is out of this world. Enjoyed a special selection of cheeses & salumi and a few glasses of their white wine Livia. Wine was perfect on a super hot summer day. Definitely plan to head back on our next adventure in Toscana!

Nice setting for basic bruschetta but far too ordinary for this marque. An Italian eatery that cant serve basic tomato bruchetta is worth a sad miss. Wine of course great being Fonerutoli.

We stayed one night in the area and chose to go to this spectacular place and we are so glad that we did! The service was absolutely tremendous and the pasta was one of the best I have ever tasted. Fantastic local wine and cannot wait to return! We wish we were staying longer so we could go again. Highly recommended for excellent food, wine and service!

We came to Castellina on a Saturday morning. We stopped here after good reviews from TripAdvisor. Gianluca, the owner, was excellent in explaining the 4 different wines that we tasted. Excellent meats and cheeses! We bought all 4 of the wines we tasted. Great experience! Highly recommended.

We stopped in this picturesque town to visit another restaurant, however when we saw Il Cantuccio (the little corner), we changed our minds. The service was very welcoming and friendly. Lots of locals of all ages that seemed to be longtime friends. We shared bruschetta that was topped with a variety of non traditional toppings, then we each had lasagna bolognese. The flavors of the meat sauce blended so well with the tender noodles and creamy cheese - it was splendid! We sat outside and enjoyed the complementary blankets on our laps. Light rain fell at times, no worries due to the large umbrella. The Super Tuscan wine and the close walk to our car, and the wonderful piano music via the soundsystem made this a perfect place for a Tuscan meal. Highly recommended!!

After visiting the vineyard Rocca delle Macié, we were recommended to have lunch at the Altroché Wine Bar only 5 min away. We arrived hungry and were welcomed by the friendly staff, who made us feel very welcome. We ordered a varity of the dishes for sharing as well as the tartar. Everything was freshly made from the best foods and served beautifully. It all tasted delicious and the tartar was amazing. We had a bottle of the Gran Reserva 2013 and a taste of the rosé which both were very good.In short, high quality, great staff and absolutely worth a try - we will be back

The restaurant is along the way to Castellina. It's a very typical Tuscan restaurant. Most customers are tourists. We enjoyed our dinner especially because of the great view. The sunset is really gorgeous. Cheeses and pasta dishes are good but nothing to remember. The check is quite pricey. Easy service.

The setting alone will take your breath away. The quintessential Tuscan vineyard with views in every direction. But then you enter the dining room where you are warmly welcomed by an attentive staff. The menu is small but with something for everyone. We started with the baccala bruschetta and a salad mista. Both were excellent but there is something about the freshness of the salad greens and their presentation that wowed me. Or maybe it was the addition of their locally produced olive oil. Either or, both appetizers were scrumptious. My husband then ordered the boar steak and I the tagliterini with truffle sauce, each rich in flavor in its own way but again home runs. We finished with the ricotta mouse, which was to die for. And if you are into wines their selection is top notch but the prices are reasonable.Al in all from the staff to the menu and quality of food our night was perfect and we highly recommend a lovely evening at Foresteria.
