Don't miss this. The lunch was over-the-top delicious and the wine tour was fascinating. The lunch included many Italian favorites and a sampling of the farm's award winner balsamic vinegar and olive oils. The wine tasting was outstanding, some of the best we had on our 2 week tour of Italy. Super friendly family and host.

Pornanino

This unique talk on bio and chemical free gourmet extra virgin olive oil, given by Matteo, expert as well as one of Chianti's premier olive growers, is a chance to learn how the best oil is made and why it requires careful handling at each step of its production. The talk is given at the Lombardi Estate tasting room, surrounded by his 4,000 olive trees. This is also where the stone frantoio (olive press of which this is one of only 14 presses in Tuscany) is located, so you will be able to see the stone grinding wheels and press that delivers the oil from the olives. Seminars and tours are UPON REQUEST.

We were introduced to Pornanino's olive oil in 2008 and it is the only olive oil we use for salads, etc. We order the oil directly from Pornanino and each year several friends ask us if we can get some for them too.

We were the only couple there when we arrived. Stefano explained how his wine tasting session took place and told us that he simply wanted his guests to enjoy themselves....we certainly did!
The numbers of people grew steadily as the tasting progressed and we really enjoyed each lovely wine whilst listening to the Stefano’s stories that were linked to pieces of art produced by a close family friend.
Good wine, good stories and good art...puts you in a great mood and you simply can’t leave empty handed!

We went to casa Emma during a tour we were on. We loved the experience, Ilaria was very friendly, informative and hospitable. The wine was good, the setting was spectacular looking over the vineyard and we loved the chance to taste the extra Virgin olive oil and the aged balsamic vinegar as well. We purchased wine, cosmetics creams and balsamic It cost €20 per person for the tasting on top of the purchases which we weren't aware of, but felt we did get generous serves of wine. I do feel it needs to be clearer and drivers on tours do not inform you of the costs. Recommend a visit if there are choices of wineries as it was a better experience than some we have been to.

Come on to discover the wine tasting in Tenuta Casanova and fun with Rita's cooking class. One day to appreciate the Tuscan wine, the extra virgin oil, the honey and Silvan's balsamic vinegar. In Tenuta Casanova, you will taste Silvano’s wines; Super Tuscany, Easy to Fall in Love and Chianti Classico, surrounded by beautiful and charmed Tuscan land.

We did a wine/food tasting and while the food was good, the wine was excellent. We toured 4 wineries in Tuscany and this one had the best wine. Silvano, the owner, gave us a tour, then handled the wine/food pairings in a very cool patio/garden area. It was a magical spot. His passion for wine, food, and the land Tenuta Casaova is on was evident throughout.

This is by far the best Winery tour we have done. The explanation on their use of biodiversity and organic agriculture was wonderful.
The farm is extremely picturesque and very beautiful. It's great to hear all the little stories about the set up of the winery.
The tasting was extremely informative and funny. Such wonderful characters around and of course the wine was excellent.
After tasting around 20-30 Chianti Classico on our trip, for me personally, this was the best. We actually looked into a visit after trying their Reserva 2011 at a bar in Florence.
We will be back!

Walking through here you can look out at the countryside through slightly opaque, lucite-covered windows, and it is kind of dark, but you can imagine what it was truly like so many, many years ago when this town-side walk-through "tunnel" was created. The restaurants in here all have a very good reputation, so, save your appetite and your curiosity for a nice experience here.

Our hotel booked us a tour and wine-paired lunch here. We were surprised they were open during the off-season, so we jumped on the opportunity. Beatrice was very friendly and welcoming. We looked around the shop while we waited for a second group to arrive for the tour and lunch. Beatrice poured us a glass of delicious rose (and I typically don't like roses) while we waited...very nice of our host. The tour itself was nice, but quick and nothing out of the ordinary, HOWEVER, the from-scratch lunch was amazing. My wife and I had a private room to enjoy our 4-course meal, 3 of which were paired with different wines from this winery. I tell you what, the housemade pasta and slow-cooked sauce was literally the best I've ever eaten. Ever. Layers and layers of flavor. I don't know if on-season prices are different, but these 2.5 hours were well worth the 35 euros. I would return anytime.

We enjoyed our tour of this small vineyard and had a somewhat tasty lunch. But we resented the hard sell of wines. We were told that their wines are only sold in person or by mail and not in stores. But a quick search of Wine Searcher Ap showed that the same wines that sell for 35, 50 and 70 euros sell at stores in the States for between 25% and 50% of these prices. I asked why this was the case and did not get a satisfactory answer.
