Reviewed By GabrielV381We had a great stay at Villa Ban Phanluang. The building is really beautiful, and the family that runs it were very welcoming and enthusiastically nice. Our room was maybe a little small, but hand-built with amazing dark woods and a steal at the rates they charge here. We were concerned it might feel a bit outside of things, but actually found the location quite charming. The little neighborhood is very interesting. Far from an inconvenience, walking across the bamboo bridge each day turned out to be a highlight. And just a 5-minute stroll puts you smack in the center of town. The owner was also very helpful in arranging a scooter rental for our outing to Kuang Si Falls. Reviewed By Robyn BWe spent 4 nights here and the staff were very nice and organized. The rooms are large and clean. The selection for breakfast was good in my opinion. Eggs cooked any way you like with warm soft bread and fruit. The smoothies are very nice and so was the banana pancake. The bed was large but on the firm side and the towels and sheets could have been cleaner. I can say our stay was nice and the location is in walking distance of many attractions

Reviewed By Gwenaëlle SThe hotel is very nicely situated in the historic center of Luang Prabang but very quiet as well. Nice to be able to enjoy the breakfast on the terrasse in the garden. Welcoming and efficient staff. Perfect place to stay to be able to go to the offering ceremony.

Reviewed By NSELStayed here in a deluxe double room for 4 nights. It is nestled among some local residence houses and so pretty quiet at night except for some occasion dogs barking. Very convenient location to all points of interest with the morning market right at door step, turn right at the entrance for morning market local food stalls and turn left to night market (Sisavangvong Road). Just 3 mins walk to the Royal Palace and about 10 to 15 mins walk to Wat Xieng Thong. Did not have breakfast in the hotel as there are so many delicious local food (pork porridge, noodles etc) at the morning market few steps away. The room and washroom are very spacious and comfortable. However for those who are hygiene concern, the street outside the hotel can be very dirty in the afternoon when the morning market ended. Lots of leftover rubbish and houseflies along the street. I arrived in the afternoon so it was not a very pleasant sight and smell. Not the hotel fault but something to take note of if you are not used to walking along dirty street especially with a trolley luggage.

Tired and Chaotic
Reviewed By fneriniAs many people have said; the location is fantastic. Just next to the bustling night market and main street full of restaurants. The location gets a high score. But the hotel is tired and in need of a deep clean. The drinking glasses in our bathroom were caked in filth. I left them out prominently for room service and they did not exchange them. The toiletries were in large branded bottles like “Pantene” but were definitely cheap mystery refills. The bathroom was dirty and sad. The electricity ports looked old. The hotel staff were chaotic and didn’t seem to know anything about the tours and transport they claimed to offer. Our breakfast order was given to the wrong table one morning and we had to wait for it to be remade. We loved Luang Prabang and the rooms at Villa Phathana were cheap and did the job. But I can’t say we enjoyed our stay.

Mostly a great stay
Reviewed By dride52We stayed in the large room with a balcony and really enjoyed our time there. We only had 2 gripes, the first of which was the lack of the refrigerator in the room which was supposed to be there according to our book. Not a huge deal, but we expected it. Secondly, we booked a trip the night before with the front desk, the next day the driver was not there. We said something after 10 minutes, and they called us another drive. All in all, we wasted 50 minutes of our time to get to the waterfalls. We typically don't use hotels to book drivers as they charge more due to the kickback they receive. All in all, we were not very happy to waste part of our morning while having to pay more money. Otherwise, the stay was lovely and the choice of 3 types of eggs at breakfast was nice. Air conditioning was also very good.

He always had a big smile when serving us. The staff there work very hard and seem to be available all hours. The breakfast was great especially pancakes. Welcome drink was a nice touch. Phat really went the extra mile for us. Thank you!

Reviewed By Stevo021Not the flashest of hotels but for the price I thought it was pretty good value. It's location was ideal at the base of Mount Phousi and an easy walk to the Nam Kham & Mekong Rivers. There are enough restaurants close by and even a few bars like Utopia & Aussie Sports bars.The hotel can book tours and arrange transport.
