Reviewed By C4210QKamyjWhat an hidden gem! This is a fantastic place which is perfectly located near by many attractions. The staff go above and beyond to ensure everything is of the highest quality. I will be recommending this hotel to my friends and family. The chef onsite is amazing and, in our opinion, the meals were much better than what we have had in the Galle Fort. The waiter was very knowledgeable with the local area and attentive. The swimming pool was the prefect temperature and the extensive grounds were keep immaculate and clean throughout our stay. Our deluxe family room was perfect for three night with 2 children. Plenty of space within the 2 story room- very impressive! Well done team but especially to The ek Shana shan, priyantha suminda and werasekara. We will come back again on our next trip.

Anton was amazing, great communication before and during the trip, so helpful, The room is huge, the decor is modern and the outdoor shower is such a little haven! The pool is pure bliss!!!! Bella the dog was adorable. The chef made the best breakfast every morning and helped us organise our trips, the TukTuk driver was so lovely and took us around and showed us beaches we didn’t know. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough! I will definitely be back. There are so many nice restaurants and beaches close by. Thank you Anton and to the good vibes villa family ❤️❤️

Why House is located within a three acre private walled garden of peace and tranquility only a ten minute walk from the beautiful beach of Dalawella and a fifteen minute drive to the world heritage site Galle Fort. Our aim is to give you a fun and relaxed holiday experiencing within the luxury of a boutique hotel with the informality of a private home. Children are welcome and supervision by the staff is available. A manager’s house and 24 hour security is on-site. This picturesque property can sleep up to 24 guests, with 10 double en-suite rooms with private terraces. We have 3 Main House Suites, 3 Garden Villa rooms, 2 Garden Bungalow rooms and 2 Cabanas available. Each individually designed room has satellite TV and DVD player (with film library), free Wi-Fi, mini fridge and luxuriously built en-suite bathrooms. An entertainment and outside dining pavilion that surrounds the large swimming pool are available to all guests. Outside guests can also enjoy lunch or dinner with us.

Its gorgeous, has beautifully kept grounds, is well run, spacious, never overcrowded and the food and drinks are absolutely outstanding. You can see why people loyally return again and again. The staff are all lovely and kind, will do anything to make your stay more comfortable. This is the sort of place where little details are really important and dont go unnoticed. For example, I noticed our fridge didnt work our first day - I didnt even get round to mentioning it to any of the staff and by the time we came back to our room it had already been replaced - like they had read my mind! The pool is beautiful and the surroundings are so private and picturesque. Henrietta, the owner, takes time to get to know her guests and was an absolute scream to hang out with and have a drink with. Love you Hen! Yes there are power cuts occasionally which is par for the course in Sri Lanka no matter where you stay and made for an exciting adventure - but are just worth mentioning in case you are unfamiliar with a sudden blackout. They don't usually last long. THE FOOD - was of an incredible standard - the modern take on traditional Sri Lankan one night was phenomenal and I think about that food all the time! The fruit plates for breakfast I still think about how good they were and all the other options - the chefs were genuises. We would 1000% return to Why House in the future. Reviewed By 243micha_cThe property is a small, family hotel with jungle garden and very nice swimming pool. Even we were very close to the city centre, we felt like in the middle of the jungle. A killer feature of the room was an outdoor shower - unfortunately there was no thunderstorm during our stay, but that's the reason to come back here! Superior hospitability of our host: He was helpful, very polite and we really appreciate his respect for guests privacy. We were served a great breakfact which was so huge that we had hardly eaten it.

Mrs Kodi prepared the veg, fish and the banana flower ( a completely new to us ingredient we had chosen as we had not seen or tried before). She made delicious curries, provided a recipe sheet and talked us through the preparations. We then enjoyed the curries with their homegrown red rice for lunch. She had made them not too spicy, especially for us, all delicious. Thank you for your hospitality in your beautiful home. We also enjoyed chatting and learning more about your lives and Sri Lanka.

Reviewed By selvamrajaWe were welcomed by Mr.Sushantha and family when we reached the property. Our driver coordinated directions with him, but the property is bang on the main road with private beach access. Stayed at their newly built two-bedroom villa for 3 nights and absolutely loved the place. The rooms and big enough with a double bed and a single bed. The kids enjoyed the lawn and the sea, beach, shells, crabs, snails and the coconuts. Mr.Sushantha & family were the primary caretakers with some additional staff but everyone always served with a smile. We chilled out in the veranda with the kids played in the shady lawn or the beach. It is with private beach access which is only frequented by the neighbouring villa guests. Mr.Sushantha took every step to ensure that our stay was comfortable and the kids enjoyed their games. We were served homemade yummy breakfast every day. Additionally, we had a small private cook area with gas and utensils which we used for making our tea or cooking some small dishes. There is also security at night so it is very safe. Drivers can also find places to stay nearby at very affordable additional costs. We would love to bring our extended family for a vacation and stay at this place again. Centrally located to landmarks. A nice supermarket is in walking distance. Several restaurants next door that not only serve good food but gives you a great experience having your food on the beach. They even served us dinner in our villa lawns and Mr.Sushantha was kind enough to arrange this. Overall the hospitality is amazing. Dream vacation place. Very impressive family-run place. Thank you Mr.Sushantha & family for making our second trip to Sri Lanka memorable.

He organised transport and trips with genuine honest friendly local people at very reasonable prices. Great breakfast and accompanying music., and he even put up the English flag during my stay that had been given to him by the Barmy Army! Hotel on a hill overlooking Galle but a few mins from the fort. Top floor room was huge with great aircon and big outside terrace looking over Galle. Went to rooftop restaurant at the Lady Hill a couple of hundred yards up the road which has spectacular views of Galle, and out to sea.
