Speers Point Park

Reviewed By Elilyssar - Bundaberg, Australia

I could not believe how much cool stuff they have there. It is a council park so it is all free and there are no staff available. The park itself is huge, and it has stuff for really little kids up to tweens. They have a pool fence with gates all around the outside, but actually the area covered is so huge you could still lose your kid. It would be better if it were separated further into smaller sections. Otherwise - make sure you take a friend and have a ratio of 1:1 kid:adult.
There is a cafe there where you can sit in or takeaway coffee/ice-blocks but be warned it really is just for families.

Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery

Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery is an exceptional cultural and tourist destination, widely recognised for its exhibition program and work with the community. Located on the shores of Australia's largest coastal saltwater lake, the leafy grounds include the award-winning gallery with state-of-the-art seminar facilities, a sculpture park, mosaic pathways, and the historic Awaba House Restaurant Cafe. Lake Macquarie is unique among regional galleries due to its location and quality of programming. Touring shows alternate with gallery-curated Exhibitions featuring nationally significant artists, many of whom share a connection with the Hunter. Contemporary visual arts, craft and design practice is the main focus of our Exhibitions, and respectful Aboriginal projects are a strong component of the program. The gallery can be reached easily via the lake foreshore cycleway, the water or by public transport. image caption: Janet Laurence,'Ghost',2009, glass, stainless steel, concrete, approx. 500 x 140 x 80cm, copyright the artist

I have attended this gallery regularly and very impressed with the staff and their helpfulness! The exhibition changes regularly and at the moment the photographic display is excellent! Highly recommend! The Awaba House Restaurant and Cafe is next door and makes a pleasurable outing for singles, couples & families!

I took the walk from Bar Beach to Newcastle. The views were gorgeous and the historical sign posting fascinating. There is a bridge and quite a steep climb at one point. There is railing all the way.
Thoroughly recommended if you want some breathtaking views of Bar Beach and Newcastle. Great photo opportunities.

Huge thank you to Bill and Wayno.
I had arranged for my fiancé to go Skydiving, upon arrival he surprised me and let me know we would both be jumping. I am deathly afraid of heights, there were tears. Bill noticed I was nervous and took me aside to go over the process and my harness, he continued to chat to us until our instructors were ready. Once my instructor Wayno introduced himself he went over everything and made me feel super comfortable about falling 15,000ft. The view from the plane was incredible and terrifying at the same time, each time tears surfaced Wayno would distract me with random facts about Newcastle and surrounds, all the while strapping up the harness.
He talked me through the whole process of when we reach 15,000 ft and when we would jump. The door opened, the light turned green and the first guy jumped. I have never been more petrified. As we shuffled toward the exit and my feet were dangling from a plane I just closed my eyes and felt a slight push... The most unreal experience of my life. Literally falling toward the earth and it was just amazing, I felt completely safe the whole time.
100% would do it again and 100% recommend this to anyone. It was an amazing experience I got to share with my future husband and I cannot thank the skydive team, especially Bill and Wayno, enough for helping me to actually do this.

Redhead Beach

Fantastic spot but the signage is poor for visitors. Technically there is no access from the Surf Club car park up to $1100 fine and from Webb park it is a bit of a walk. Direct access is from Cain Street Carpark northern point of Dog Exercise area and Southern end of Cain Street Duck Pond path (about mid point of Dog Exercise Area). Need to keep dogs on lead until you reach the beach but then it is fun time. Don't forget the poo bags

We chose best tours because they allowed us to take our little one which wasn't possible with the other tours. We booked separately to some friends of ours but because we messed up with communication we ended up being put on different buses. Bruce was incredibly helpful and accommodating, switching things around so that we joined up with our friends early which made the day.
The vineyards chosen were excellent, really different and interesting. Food was good value at lunch. The visit to the cheese and chocolate tasting at the end was a great bonus!
Would highly recommend for the friendly staff and the great choice of places to visit.

A staff member pressured me into writing a good review for Xtreme Indoor Go Kart Racing Warners Bay. So here goes.
Its a great place for a multitude of reasons. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The service is enjoyable as are the other customers. It is, surprisingly a good way to make new friends. And what better way to show your supremacy by crushing those new friends hopes on the race track.
I am still going to tick the box below...Because I have to. Also, my name is Jake Martin...feel free to message me on FB or like them on FB.
Also, they have Vanilla Coke which is pretty cool.
