D Dutchmen Dairy

Reviewed By d0ndequiera - Los Angeles

Sicamous is small but you should definitely stop here for ice cream. It's made with milk fresh from the dairy. There is even a sign telling you the date the cows were milked to make the ice cream you're eating. Grab an ice cream and walk around the barn to see the animals.
You can buy other fresh dairy products as well.
My only suggestion is, since we're getting it practically straight from the cow, lower the prices a bit?

$10 per adult felt expensive for what effectively is a 2 minute walk over a suspension bridge but hey they built it out of their own pockets and they have to recoup their money so I get it. Spectacular gorge and Waterfalls. Spend maybe 20 mins there and you will be done.

We went to the Visitor Centre to get some information of things to see locally and further along our trip. The lady was very helpful. There was also another local lady who was also very friendly and helpful. She insisted that we go and have a look at the foreshore and Sicamous's famous beach. The beach was a lovely spot and there was nice park adjacent to it.

If you looking for a place to rent any kind of watercraft this is the place to come to in Sicamous! We rented a seadoo for the day but Reds Rentals also have pontoon boats and motor boats as well as all the water toys for rent. Their location couldn't be better since it is right by the public boat launch in Sicamous. We were also impressed with the customer service. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Hyde Mountain on Mara Lake Golf Course

Reviewed By kevinjamesboschdr - Calgary, Canada

I have been going to Hyde Mountain for over 5 years and have pre-purchased over 200 rounds being able to carry over pre purchased rounds from year to year. This year- I went with my wife to use 2 of the remaining 8 rounds pre purchase and we were informed they would not honor the passes. Feeling frustrated- I went to lunch with my wife at the clubhouse and after lunch- asked to speak w the manager. I offered to pre- pay in cash for another 100 rounds of golf with no expiry ($5000) and we were refused. I left disappointed and do not plan to return. We love the course but do not believe new management is capable of running a course in a healthy way.

Get Wet Rentals

Reviewed By Sasha H - Calgary, Canada

A man and wife own this rental shop. Jet ski's were fast and well maintained and we were able to book last minute which we appreciated. We booked 2 jet ski's and a wake board and we showed up early for our appointment at noon. We rented for half a day and felt that the prices were reasonably cheaper than the competitors in Sicamous. Everything went fine other than the owner (the man with the English accent) who refused to explain the insurance and how it worked. Basically told us if we get a scratch on one of the machines it would be $2500 which made us very uncomfortable and made me extremely stressed when trying to get out of the marina. The one thing he did/said when we got back is what really upset us. We were all getting ready to pay and we had to split the payment 4 ways (2 riders on each sea doo made for one payment split) which we had for-warned on the phone before we booked. He got instantly frustrated with us when we said we needed to split the payments and said "This terminal/machine charges me $12.00 every time I friggen use it" so I replied with (fed up at this point) "how is that my problem?" and he said well I guess its not but I'm just fed up with people......... WELL THEN! sorry that all of your previous customers MADE YOU act this way. Grow up and take some responsibility for your actions. We told him to his face we would never return and he did nothing to correct that. We gave him almost $500 for 4 hours of jet skiis and he's worried about a $12 transaction fee... Well I can tell you its not $12... not my fault you aren't up to date with technology. Even his kids that helped get us onto the dock were rude and pushy. I officially have a bad taste in my mouth.

We rented a ski boat from this outfit and the staff were incredibly nice, courteous and knowledgeable.
My only complaint is some of the equipment needs to be maintained better and their selection of rental accessories needs to be way bigger.
Unfortunately, the kids got a crappy tube (all they had left) which the kids didn't want to ride after one try. It scared them. Because of that, I decided to return the boat early since the kids we too afraid to swim (the fish....I know). For me, it was a major waste of money. For someone else it could have been a blast.
