Når man fra bunden af Sakskøbing Havn vælger at gå langs venstre side af fjorden, kommer man, efter man har passeret Saxkjøbing Roklub, til Fjordstien, som man kan følge ud til Maltrup Vænge Lystbådehavn, en kort men meget smuk tur på kun 1.200 meter.
Fjordstien er asfalteret indtil man når Maltrup Vænge Lystbådehavn, og herefter skal man, især i vådt vejr, have gode sko på, hvis man vælger at fortsætte ud mod Maltrup Skov og kysten, hvor der er udsigt ud over Tårs Vig mod Askø.
Fjordstien er rig på vegetation og fugleliv og er en fin naturoplevelse tæt på Sakskøbing centrum.

This is how a "ZOO" should be. Most of the animals have large areas to roam 'free'. So if you want to get close to wild and exotic animals, and not traveling the globe, this is the best solution. Especially for the animals involved, as they have a much better life here, than in small concrete cages that is the norm in normal ZOO's.
They also have a relative new play land with lot's of good entertainment and rides for the children. This is a definite winner.

This was an amazing find: a lovely museum of recent and contemporary Danish art in the middle of the countryside. But, even better, was the ambiance in which Fuglsang Kunstmuseum is situated. After exploring the art inside, we walked through the Gardens of the old farm and estate.
Allow enough time to talk a leisurely walk!
We loved Copenhagen but it was really great to get away from the city and see another Denmark.

We loved our trip to this Medevil center. There are daily tournaments with Knights, which was a real treat. Lots to see, do and experience. The kids loved it too.

This gallery presents the variety of art that is made by Heike Ardt. The exibition is perfectly arranged so that each peace of art seems like a word in great poem. No matter where you look your eyes will be filled with beauty.
And Heike Arndt's glowing talk about her work is indeed worth listening to.
Go there, and at the same time enjoy the beautiful, historical landscape on the island Lolland.

Det gamle 33 meter høje vandtårn på Nystedvej i Sakskøbing blev opført i 1908 af entreprenørfirmaet Christiani & Nielsen. Det var i brug som vandtårn frem til 1985.
Tre år før vandtårnet blev taget ud af drift, blev det, i 1982, dekoreret af kunstneren Flemming Skude: Et smilende ansigt der byder Sakskøbings gæster velkommen til smilets by.
Der er ikke adgang indvendigt i tårnet, man må nøjes med at se det udefra.

A majestic Cathedral in a small, almost deserted town, going back to the Sta. Birgitta monastery days, surrounded by a park, lake and an old grave yard. Too bad the church was closed. There were some ruins close by , probably connected to the monastery. Peaceful place, good experience.

I spotted this windmill from the highway and pulled into town to investigate. Apparently it is open from 1100-1500, a short time window that I missed. It's pretty enough to view from the street. There is information to read, but not in English, so I don't know anything about the site other than it is lovely.
There is a lovely motel inside of an old schoolhouse and a nice church to explore just a short walk away.

Nice trip for kids. We eat our lunch on the train so nice. The train stoppes in Bandholm for 20 minutes you Can buy sodas, souvenirs, icecream, coffee cheap. It seems as though the staff loves their jobs.
