This Confiseur here has fantastic cakes (tourtes). Famous is the Truffle cake, and rightly so. Dark and heavy chocolate is used, that's a mouthful. But we loved the Tourte "Le Pave Du Chateau" even better. Covered with chocolate AND then chocolate powder. Creamy inside with a bit of jam. It's pure sweetness. It's heavy, it's filling....it's perfect. Really one of the best cakes we've ever bought in a bakery. Came back a few days later to get some more. Prices are fair - especially for its quality.

Both outside exhibits and museum are very well presented and explained. Inside the are interactive card game like quiz questions that are appealing to kids. Very pleasant atmosphere and enough information for two visits. Lots of interesting archeological findings, methods and insights to discover. Playgrounds outside, cafeteria and museum shop. Outstanding lake and mountain views.

An amazing collection in a beautiful setting! Loved the house, it has been arranged with great care and perfect furniture for the setting. An iPod was available to rent (CHF 3) which gave a huge amount of information, allow plenty of time for this visit! There are also a couple of 3D films to watch, one showing in detail the pieces in the museum with all their mechanical pieces working, just brilliant! Have left the museum with a burning desire to have a few such clocks and watches myself, but managed not to attempt to take any home with me!

This is a must-see in this region of Switzerland, especially on a Sunday when most of the country is shut down. Admission price is modest and gains you entrance to surrounding museums. The exhibits are rich in detail, easily accessed, and full of information, especially if you use the audio option, which only requires ID for use. Our eyes were opened to the wide world of timepieces and care in which they were crafted throughout the ages.
