Walking into this place I had no idea what I was about to experience as it was booked as a surprise for me hen do (I know I’m weird). It was so amazing I wish I would give it more stars! A must for any person who loves a horror movie. It was like being in one! I would highly recommend if you’re looking for something different to do in Kraków. If anyone is unsure you can leave at any time (which my Sister did as she couldn’t cope). Absolutely brilliant, the highlight of my hen!

Stained Glass Museum (Muzeum Witrazu)

Guided tours in English: Tuesday - Saturday every hour from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. (last English tour 5:00 pm). In the Stained Glass Museum, exhibition spaces intertwine with the old stained glass workshop, functioning since 1902. The visitors can observe the process of stained glass creation, in the warm atmosphere of the historic workshop, directly above the heads of artists and craftsmen. For this reason visits can only be made by joining a guided tour. Ticket prices per person (including our English guide): adults 37 PLN, student 31 PLN, family (2+2) 124 PLN Visitors can also book workshops with master craftsmen and make their own stained glass souvenir. There are three workshops options: 2 hrs, 3 hrs or 2 days long, at the price 190 PLN, 260 PLN or 1100 PLN per person respectively. The price in each case includes: - guided tour of the museum and workshop - coffee break - creation of stained glass object under the artist's guidance - your own stained glass object to take home.

One of my top experiences in Krakow. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn’t say the place is very commercial or touristy, it’s quiet and authentic. Our guide had perfect English and gave us a small workshop experience. She answered all questions and provided some great insights into the glass making process. Highly recommended!

Arthropoda - Butterfly Museum

The exhibition is the largest permanent display of world's butterflies in Poland. Over five thousand (5049) specimen from all over the world can be viewed. Realised in 2009 by Jacek Kobiela and his son Filip Kobiela, the collection is a crowning of the over 35 year lasting passion of the former. Together, the two represent the second and the third generation of collectors in the family. They continue the legacy of Prof. Stanislaw Fischer, who established the Bochnia Museum in 1959, which currently bears his name. ,,Arthropoda's" collection includes an overview of day and night butterflies divided into families and genuses present in all of the world's continents. The collection shows arthropods - the biggest group of animals living on earth: day and night butterflies, beetles (Poland and world), scorpions, mantes, hemiptera. Species from around Bochnia comprise a substantial part of the collection. The exhibition is complemented by a selection of macro pictures of butterflies and beetle heads shot by Filip Kobiela. Butterfly classification is based on the taxonomy of Linnaeus, who first introduced latin binomial nomenclature describing biological species. The museum presents species, whose appearance and biology ilustrate various natural phenomena - a moth doesn't have to be grey and a butterfly can be a leaf, an owl or a tiger.

We loved the show put on by an old Baca, there is a good interaction going on between the old and the new generation, we thought the presentation was very good, the whole process of coming from sheep milk to Oscypek became living and clear. The old Baca is quite the character, had a good cheer and attitude, the presentation setup is close up, intimate almost, very enjoyable experience. Very good to take kids to.

Krakow Arcade Museum

A blast from the past! The only one in Poland private collection of over 130 arcade games available on Free Play. Museum presents history of entertainment. Oldest table game dates back to 1936. Main focus though is placed on 80' and 90' classics. One cannot miss Pac Man, Galaga, Mortal Kombat and dozens of driving and shooting games. Great for kids and adults. Perfect for a rainy day. It is a time machine that will transport you back to your happy childhood memories. Cannot be missed while in Krakow - only 15 min tram ride from the city center. There is also big free parking in front.

I visited the museum for my birthday while visiting Krakow. It was my idea of heaven. Some great classic games from my youth such as house of the dead, time crisis and my personal favourite the simpsons arcade game. I spent a good number of hours there but easily could have spent all day. If I ever make it back to Krakow I will be sure to visit again. This was definitely my happy place!

This is one of the best attractions we have ever been to see, you have a guided tour of the mine and see the sculptures created by some of the miners after their shifts had finished, lasts about two hours or more. If you could get to see all the mine workings you'd probably be down there for a couple of days as you only get to see about 3 percent of the mine.
