A beautiful experience
Reviewed By PritiK787We stayed at the suite in this hotel. The hotel is located away from the centre, but offers an excellent view from the hill top. The swimming pool was right next to our suite and the view from the poolside was excellent as well. Breakfast was served in the room and we really enjoyed the sumptous breakfast. Staff were accomodating to our requests. We had an excellent stay at Mount blue Kandy

This house has a special athmosphere
Reviewed By valkofeeniks+ clean, comfortable + host speaks good English & French + adapters for connecting multiple devices with UK and EU 2-pin plug + beautiful wooden decorations in the house + mosquito net ~ it's a bit dark inside - the house is far from the gate and there is no doorbell so if the gate should be closed for whatever reason, you have to call the owners on the phone or climb the fence ;-) - little space for unpacking During our 3-week holiday, we stayed in 7 home stays. Staff was nice & helpful everywhere, helped us get there, organized programs on demand, arranged tuktuk, etc. These are true for this place too.

The food was delicious and the service was five star quality. We especially like to appreciate the management here. We are also pleased with the cordial service we have received from Mr. Thyaga Perera, Resident Manager, and Mr. Sumudu, Food & Beverage Manager. Thank you Kitchen Team! W.G.C. A rundown, and sad place

But reviews need to present people with a factual and real assessment. So here it is. We reached the vicinity of the hotel (thanks to Google maps), but struggled to find the place as the signage we very poor. People in the vicinity did not know where this hotel was! When we did eventually find the place- it was sad and uninviting. The "reception" was an old desk in a corner of the hall. We were then shown to our room - which was equally sad and depressing. Everything about the room was screaming that it had not been cleaned or maintained for several months. The bathroom was so bad that the entire family decided to skip a shower next morning. The old man who was apparently the manager of the place, made a valiant attempt to rustle up a breakfast next morning. It was decent. Overall, it is not the kind of place you want to stay in when on a vacation...

Einfach gut & professionell geführt
Reviewed By Ro DIn meinen 4 Wochen auf Sri Lanka habe ich mich nirgends wohler gefühlt. Ich hatte das kleine Zimmer im ersten Stock auf der Ecke. Mit den großen Fenstern und den 30cm tiefen Raucherbalkons hat man das Gefühl in Frankreich oder Vietnam zu sein. Die Einrichtung ist recht stylisch/modern und frei vom üblichen Sri Lanka Kitsch in dunklem Holz. Das Zimmer ist nicht perfekt, so habe ich einen Kühlschrank und einen Stuhl vermisst und die letzte Reinigung der Fenster war auch mehrere Wochen her – aber für 20€ und in Anbetracht mancher anderen Bruchbuden in Sri Lanka trotzdem in Ordnung. Da das Haus direkt an einer verkehrsreichen Kreuzung liegt, sollte man nicht zu lärmempfindlich sein. Ich empfand die Lage und den Ausblick auf die Strasse als Pluspunkt, da ich mich nach kleinstädtischer Geschäftigkeit gesehnt habe. Im Erdgeschoss gibt es ein ebenso stylisches kleines Café vom gleichen Inhaber, welches auch von lokalen Schülern frequentiert wird. Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung, die Milchshakes echt lecker und das Team beweist auch, dass es in Sri Lanka schnellen Service gibt. Der immer anwesende Inhaber/Manager ist ein sympathischer und unaufdringlicher Herr mit sehr guten Englischkenntnissen. Mit dem Gesamtpacket war ich sehr zufrieden und kann mir gut vorstellen auch mehrere Wochen in diesem gut geführten Haus im schönen Kandy zu verbringen.

Worst place to stay in Kandy
Reviewed By ThusharidilhaeaFirst of all the road was terrible, if you come in a car it will not be possible, and second it’s not clean at all, the bedroom was filthy the bed sheets and pillow cases are old, the bathroom was leaking all over nothing like the pictures shown above. And after the room was handed over we called the person to ask about the breakfast but no one picked up or never called back. And floor was dirty. Didn’t even had a carpet to clean the legs the doors and the walls are discolored and dirty. And not worth for money at all. We booked with the breakfast but we didn’t even stay for it. As travelers we do not recommend this hotel, you get much better hotels with better views for the same rate. They just catfish everything with older pictures.

Lovely stay in hills of Kandy
Reviewed By brockin07I had a wonderful stay at Remli Villa. The hosts have build a three story building on their lovely hillside property. The first two floors are one bedroom apartments and the top floor is where they serve a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. The rooms have a small basic kitchen (all you need for a short stay), wifi, and lovely views. The property was well decorated, clean, and Heshan and his wife were extremely friendly and welcoming. It is a short ride from main part of town, but very well worth it to experience the natural beauty on outskirts of Kandy. The flowers and views were lovely. Great value and recommended.

Reviewed By Nirasha2015Picturesque little bungalow with beautiful garden in a stunning location overlooking the Victoria reservoir. Very close proximity to the Pallekelle international cricket stadium and Victoria golf club. The bungalow is breathtakingly designed in the architectural style of Geoffrey Bawa. Our room was very clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities provided. A highlight was breakfast in the garden under the Kottang tree!! The food was some of the best we've ever tasted, personally prepared by the hostess herself!! The owners were very friendly and considerate and made sure that all our needs were met. We had a very interesting and informative evening with Mr. Abeysekera in his greenhouse where he explained to us his innovative and efficient ways harvesting fruit and vegetables organically. Absolutely super value for money and highly recommended!!
