Top 10 Specialty lodgings in Istanbul, Turkey

June 9, 2023 Janette Largent

A social and geographic confluence where East and West, North and South, religious and secular, ancient and modern all converge in kaleidoscopic display, Istanbul is as vibrant an urban destination as you’ll ever visit on earth. Whatever strikes your fancy, chances are it’s done with vigor in this mega city that’s too expansive – and cultured – to settle upon only one continent to call its home.

it may not be a 5 star hotel but the care and kindness of the staff make this hotel special. The property is well located to the historic and cultural tourist staff and the surrounding places around this hotel is most interesting. a bazaar (not the grand bazaar) to over whelm you. the hotel has a great restaurant on site and one outside ideal for families as well. there is also a nice bistro that serves delicious cakes. the rooms are spacious enough and bathroom amenities are great. the hotel itself is housed in a 300 year old building and beautifully enhanced by chanelliers.

Good Hotel

Reviewed By Dana M

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in a standard room that we found to be a decent size. The room itself was very pleasant with a nice sunset view. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean. Good shower pressure with plenty of hot water. I wish there had been a mirror, other than the mirror in the bathroom, to check my dress before going out. It seemed strange to me that there wasn't one. A good place would be above the built in desk, but I survived. :) Breakfast was traditional Turkish with nice views of the pool and outside area. It is also easy to take the food poolside. Everything was nice, except perhaps the coffee. I dislike nescafe, but the tea is good. The food was fresh. The hotel is a nice pleasant walk into town. It probably took 15 minutes, but along the way are shops and restaurants. We did not mind, but if you have mobility issues, you will want something closer. We noticed a couple of paths for beach access besides the main entrance, so the beach is actually relatively close to the hotel. There were bicycles for rent, but we did not check on the price for this. We had an issue the second night upon returning from town after dinner. A young man was at the desk and my boyfriend asked him in Turkish for an extra pillow. I am used to sleeping with 2 and kept waking up the night before, since I only had one. I did not like this man/boy's attitude. He looked quite unconcerned and simply said no. I found this hard to believe that the hotel did not have extra pillows and what made me angry was that it was quite obvious this spoiled child could have cared less. Maybe it is the parents of the child who own the hotel. If so, I feel sorry for them, since it is obvious he does not care about the business that provides the money that feeds his hungry stomach. Other than this small upset, I liked the hotel and we had fun swimming in the pool and playing a board game. Dinner options were available but we did not try anything. This is a smallish family run hotel that caters to couples and families. In my opinion. I would not hesitate to stay again.

Nice little hotel with clean beds and spacious bright rooms. The hotel is located in the back streets which gives a tourist a nice atmosphere merging with local life style and very close to Topkapi, etc. The hotel is not wheel-chair friendly and I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying there who has a physical challenges. I was struggling with stairs but that was the only challenge. Nice terrace for breakfast. Overall i would recommend this hotel for a short stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
