Top 10 Spas & Wellness in Chinatown, Singapore

February 26, 2022 Marlin Saiz

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

My husband & I were searching Singapore's Chinatown for a respectable looking massage outlet. We found Bath Culture Foot Therapy, and after checking their Google Maps reviews were +4 stars, decided to head in. We weren't disappointed. My foot & leg massage was fantastic, and really helped loosen up the blocked lymphatic system and relieve my severely swollen ankles. The young masseuse was firm enough to have a therapeutic effect, but also aware enough to ensure that if anything really hurt, she would back off. My husband was thrilled with his back, neck & shoulder massage which loosened all his knots, and 3 days and 1 seven hour flight later, is still reaping the benefits. It was the best 40 minutes we spent on our Singapore flight stopover. We will return to Bath Culture Foot Therapy when next in Singapore.

Hatyai Thai Massage

Reviewed By PretzelPunk

If you are into deep tissue massage that magically helps dissapate all the muscular kinks & knots in your body, then you got to go to Hatyai and ask for their most talented (in my opinion!) therapist by name — ????MAY???? — who is a specialist in Thai Massage! She is an extremely focused and dedicated therapist, who will give it her all to work out your "trouble spots"! And even though I do not speak any Thai (and English is not her first language) — she still somehow manages to effectively zero in onto the source areas causing muscular discomfort with minimal direction from me... now THAT to me is the hallmark of a truly talented body worker! In my experience, most message therapists are too hesitant and shy (or maybe they just don't care to work that hard!... ???? I know I wouldn't — it's very demanding vocation!) to apply the necessary deep pressure to release a problematic knot — well, not May, and my body is certainly grateful to her for that! She is certainly extremely responsive to feedback regarding the adjustment of pressure levels to suit client preferences, but I have come to realize May intuitively knows best what pressure approach to take with each different problem area — so the best is just giving her free rein to apply her expertise, and to relax under her capable care! I have been getting consecutive, weekly 90-minute Thai massages from May for about 5 sessions now — and I can truly say my body is in better shape than when I first arrived in Singapore! I'm just sad today is my last session with May before flying back to the US... I'm glad I chose a longer 2-hour massage this time, because now I feel even better prepared to deal with that dreadfully long flight home! Unfortunately, I do not live in Singapore long-term... otherwise, seeing May weekly will become part of my "fixed" standard of prudent self-care! ???????????? Thank you, Hatyai Thai Massage! Thank you, May — for having provided me with such excellent care! ????????????
