Since the election of President Trump in the United States, especially too many Americans get exposed to mostly highly biased information about Russia. The cure, if possible, try to visit Russia in person. As one recent BBC program informed, a growing number of Americans indeed have chosen to do that. One of the unexpected surprises to this American, the splendor of Yekaterinburg, a magnificent city just east of the Urals, and with its smart population already breathing the air of the huge Siberian plains further east to the city. And adding to the many surprises of this city is the 51st-floor restaurant in the Vysotsky skyscraper towering over this remarkable city. Right next to the Radisson Hotel, Vertical 51, as this eatery is called, presents some fine à la carte options but especially a spectacular outlook over the city. A local university host had provided a charming female guide for the occasion. As a result, I enjoyed the best of various important elements: a charming, highly educated local guide, a restaurant with a spectacular view, and some Russian menu choices and personable Russian staff which turned out surprisingly quality as well. In fact, it all turned out of such exceptional quality that I gladly returned. That second time I visited I wound up graciously invited by a fellow (but better) Afrikaans-speaking, the South African general manager of the next-door Radisson hotel. When arriving the first time, we had no reservations but were lucky enough to wind up with a front-row table, close to the bar, and providing the immediate conversation focus with my guide pointing out the various city attractions in view. While thus engaged, my female companion ordered a salmon salad and Russian tea, while I decided on a heartier all-Russian route of a hot Borscht and an unknown Crimean wine choice. All choices turned out quality and our waitress, unsolicited, added to the quality experience by immediately being personally attentive, bringing some tasty Russian black bread and butter samples to our table, too. When visiting Yekaterinburg, don't skip this unexpected, glass-fronted, high-tech skyscraper, the highest structure of its kind anywhere this north in Siberia - and up in the clouds as well, this pleasant, unrushed and remarkable quality restaurant experience...Hello, Joost H!Thank you for this incredible review! We tried Vino e Pasta Carbonara on a Saturday evening. The restaurant looks trendy and is very big. We opted for simple food and a bottle of red wine. My wife's gazpacho was good but warm. The pizzas are cooked in a wood fire oven (which is great) unfortunately service is rather slow so they came cold and less than a minute after gazpacho was served... (The restaurant is huge and waiters have to run around). Pizzas were just average in taste (mozzarella?). The restaurant offers a selection of Italian dry reds unfortunately mainly unknown wines even in the higher price range. Waiters are friendly. Thanks a lot for your response! It's unaccepably prohibited to serve dishes and drinks wrong temperature. We'll work this out with our staff one more time. We hope to see you again and we'll treat you with Italian wine and homemade desserts!

This restaurant has a very nice industrial interior and good central location. For Russian standards it has excellent service which translates into adequate service on a western level. I often come to Russia and can honestly say they are making an effort there. Menu ranges from sushi to steak an pizza. Lots of beers to choose from

This restaurant must be one of the best restaurants in Ekaterinburg. The food is absolutely lovely and it looks just like on the pictures from the menu. And it's for very reasonable price! The staff is professional and the whole place is very cosy. Many locals eat there so don't come in busy hour or prepare for waiting (they'll put you on a list and call you when a table is free).

We went in for lunch. The place is looking really good, with steel/wood seats, nice couches and had a good athmosphere. We ordered from the menu instead of taking a business lunch (which we are not familiar with). We ordered greek salad & veggie burger with a hummus dish on the side. All dishes were tasty and the hummus excellent! Because of the good vibe we stayed longer than meant to :-) Afterwards we did the red line walk, also recommended!Hello! Good place! The first thing is the atmosphere.Beef Tatar was one of the best I've ever had (and believe me, I had some in my life), then Oliver (vegetable salad with some meat and small egg on top) was amazing as well. Well, first of all the restaurant relocate in a small food court into a mall, so TA should not promote the old photos and reviews since they not represent the place anymore.This said, while the cheeses platter and the 2 lasagna were barely decent (not more than barely decent) the service has been terrible: the 2 weitress spent the whole hour chatting on their mobiles giving the back to the guests (only 4 in total), while we felt we were dining in a fast food, and not an Italian restaurant at all.Probably the less terrible Italian place in the city, but far from being a good one.Sorry, but never again.Hello, first want to say thank you for review. Let's begin in saying that this restaurant is simply beautiful!Once entered you will be taken into the Russian classic books, the Tzars era and the early communist period (the one of the powerful).Authentic, perfectly executed Russian dishes with the French note so common during those passed years.Service is simply perfect. We have gone to this restraurant on a Saturday night without a reservation, we took last table, the place was packed. We ordered two most expensive steaks on a menu, meat was great, they grill steaks over an open fire, which is amazing. Atmosphere is very nice and relaxing, wine suggestions were amazing, kid's meal was great,our two year old finished his chicken screwers as a grown man! - very tender and juicy.
