I feel like mumbling non-sense, because I am so shocked. I'm a local, lived here many years. I've seen this place go through many chefs. Currently, it's as bad as it gets. I don't write reviews ever. I also don't complain ever, because I realize some poor human somewhere would be over-joyed to be eating anything right now.
I feel terribly embarrassed for the waitresses and waiters. Having to bring out the food they are making in a place like this. The food would be terrible food for the lowest quality restaurant and here, it comes at ridiculous prices. I've been 3 times in the last 4-5 months, and that last one will be the last until they change. Each time has been sub par, I'd maybe rate the best meal 3/10.
I got a chicken bla bla this time. Can't remember the name because it was jammed with so many over emphasized words my brain hurt.
It was $27 dollars!!! It wasn't worth $8.
Over/burnt deep fried chicken, small bowl of cabbage coleslaw, and a bowl of fries.
Seriously. What? I didn't even touch it.
I think the waitress was so embarrassed it took her a while to even ask. I almost went into the kitchen to slap someone. Please Black Rock, I know it's hard to find good employees out here, but wow, fire those chefs, get your old (good) menu back.
"Type of cuisines" select box doesn't allow me to choose the type of food this is so I'll just mention it here: "Garbage dumpster"

Well, this place raised the bar a lot for all the other Fish and Chips places! After eating the big and delicious portion here I'm not sure that I will try other places...The fish was so fresh and the chips were super. Thumbs up for this place..

We have been there on the recommandation of our hotel. The Float Lounge is located direct in the harbour and you can have dinner beside the fisherman boats. Service was fast and attentive and very friendly. Food needs some time but was fresh and tasty. Price is for me high, but maybe for this region OK. I have paid 80Cad$ for 2 beers, fish and rips. I had to pay 3 Cad$ xtra for some fresh onions with the salad. This is stupid for me with the high price of the food.

Seems to be a new owner since my last visit, and new is good.
The menu includes hot dog favourites...I like the Canuck; but the menu also has new items like tacos...and french fries - which were excellent.
Not a fancy table cloth eatery, but good honest food and very fair prices.
I make a point of going every time I visit the area simply because it IS good food at a good price. Try it.

Don't let the exterior or lack of view in this spectacular area mislead you. This wonderful little restaurant has amazing food in a very clean, intimate and inviting environment. Joanna our waitress was nothing short of a star. Service was great, food amazing and it was just a few minutes drive to where we were staying at the Wild Pacific Retreat (at The Ridge). We would go back here any time for a casual drink and nibbles or a romantic dinner.... Loved it.

My husband and myself decided to go out for lunch and chose the Blue room. There was only 2 other tables in there besides ourselves but once given our menu', it took a long time for the waitress to come and take our order. We also were not told the specials of the day, but read them on a board when we walked in so maybe they don't tell every individual table. Our waitress definitely made up for the wait by how sweet she was. Really good service for the rest of our time there. Lunch also was delicious. my husband had a burger and fries and I had calamari and fries. We both enjoyed everything we ate and cleaned our plates. (I couldn't keep my husband out of my calamari) My only complaint which wasn't REALLY a big deal.... was they had people come in to measure their windows for coverings or something during our meal and they were literally reaching over our heads and hovering around our table. We felt like we were in the way and should move or leave. They also did it to the other table by the window. This isn't a big deal and wouldn't stop us from returning, but for a restaurant that is only open until 4 in the afternoon, I feel there would have been a better time to do this. We will be back :)

Be prepared if its cold out, this restaurant has limited indoor Seating. The staff will provide you with blankets and make your time there comfortable if you choose to eat outside on the covered patio. The food was very good, limited items, wine we wanted was not available, they ran out of their famous chowder early in the evening, and the staff did bicker about the Seating and people moving around themselves. Our food was very good, would recommend the ribs to anyone. Would visit again for sure!!!
