I was over at the Museum and stopped in for a short time as was on my way to the Airdrie Festival of Lights.
This is a great place to research / learn about the area. I am going back to spend a couple of hours.
That being said a 4 or us from a Meet Up Group visited the Festival of Trees. The lights were awesome. Remember if you go please make a donation as they had to replace all the light bulbs this year to meet the new acceptable standards...so they Need our help.

Standard Tap Public House

Reviewed By FortMacLoves2Travel - Red Deer, Canada

We should have known better when we pulled up and all the cooks were standing outside smoking but we gave it a shot anyway. The service was just ok, nothing special.
The candied bacon was disgusting! Expected it to be thick and crispy but it was soggy, half cooked thin and limp. Not to mention the pile of grease in the bottom of the bucket.
We had potato skins that were almost cold and had very little bacon on them but had tomato...gross. They did give you lots of sour cream though!
The lettuce wraps tasted good but all they gave you for lettuce was a half a head of iceberg lettuce. Literally a head of lettuce chopped in half and each time you tried to pull it apart it broke into pieces that were too small to use properly. Not too mention the waste.
The fish tacos were good and the sandwiches were very large but just ok for flavour. The Caesar salads were just ok but they were loaded with French fried onions and a piece of the disgusting candied bacon.
The drinks were good but everyone had bottled things so I can't speak for mixed drinks. If you're just going for a beer it's an ok place but if you want to eat decent food maybe move along to somewhere else.

Aura Day Spa

Reviewed By ballsdeep77 - Airdrie

I have visited the Aura Day Spa for years mainly because it's one of the few Spas in the City of Airdrie and because I always love to support small local businesses. It offers a variety of massages, manicures and pedicures and various other services. I have gotten massages for myself, my wife and as gifts for family members....again because I like to support local business and to avoid driving into Calgary. It seems that every time I leave though, I don't feel greatly refreshed and always tell myself that I won't go back and that I should try something else....but it seems convenience brings me back. I pay into benefits and figure I should treat myself to a massage every now and then to use those benefits. My wife and I both share the same opinions on this review so keep in mind it's not solely my thoughts written here. Every masseuse we've had has talked our ear off, which sometimes is not bad but please give me the option. My wife likes more pressure during a massage and says she has yet to receive it here, even after requesting it repeatedly and I like a softer relaxation massage and I still have to ask the masseuse to increase pressure. I'm not paying to get tickled. I've told them to spend more time on my feet as they can get sore, dry and sometimes cracked and this is handled with them not touching my feet at all. My wife has never left there feeling blown away by the massage but never really wanted to tell me until now because she didn't want to be rude. Whenever I've received a gift certificate to go there from a family member (again to support local business) I've had an unbelievable time booking a massage. It seems like every day I try and book it, they have no staff available or it's at some obscure time.
The final nail in the coffin for me was when I submitted my RMT receipt to Blue Cross and the claim was denied because they have no record of the masseuse on file. Now, even after a terrible massage, my claim is denied because according to the insurance provider, they have no record of the masseuse or she has not kept up on her hours. Every penny back helps, and regardless of who is at fault, that was it for me. I will not support this local business anymore. I know I'm the first reviewer of this business, and I know that it is a fairly busy spa (mainly because it's one of the few in the city) and I also know that it may be fairly unpopular with the users that frequent this spa because they will be loyal to the owners and it has been around for a long time, but I figure I've given this spa many chances over the years and I will look elsewhere to get a massage.

Drizzzles

We are Airdrie's best home made Fudge and artisan chocolate shop. We specializes in fudge, chocolate bars, bonbons, brittles and pralines. We also carry hard to find and old fashioned candies as well as our huge collection of gummies and candies.

Adila the shop owner is a true master at baking and sweets, her store is a cross between a bakery and a candy shop and I dare you to try and leave with out a bag full of goodies. The service is fantastic and going to drizzles is like getting baking from your mom. So much love goes into her food it's addicting. I can't pass up driving to Airdrie from Calgary on the regular cause it's just that good!, keep up the great work, and I'll be back soon!!!
