Wild Pacific Trail

The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

Ucluelet Aquarium

The Ucluelet Aquarium is closed for the 2017 season. We will re-open March 1st, 2018. See you then!

This is one the better Aquariums to visit in BC. Much smaller than most, but has quality displays and tonnes of touch tanks. My boys have grown up on the west coast and enjoyed learning more about these animals. We also saw things we haven’t seen before. We loved their jellyfish tank.

We stopped here on a cross country road trip and were impressed with this visitor centre. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with insight into the Pacific Rim and the various events available in the Parks. We appreciated their suggestions and recommend this place as a “Must Stop” before driving the Pacific Rim Highway.

Long beach is a 30km plus long stretch of white sand between Tofino and Ucluelet. They may have different names for different section of long beach but they are all part of long beach. We started at Kwisitis Visitor Centre at south end of long beach which is also a great place to watch winter huge waves. Visitor Centre is currently under renovation but restroom and rest of centre open.

Thornton Creek Hatchery

We were too early (or late?) in the season to see the salmon runs/ bears, but one of the staff kindly came out to greet us at the gate and offered to show us around. So we got our own private mini tour! The hatchery's work is amazing, and we got to see various types of baby salmon in the tanks, plus an explanation of them and the area. It was very informative and the staff were friendly and more than happy to show us around. The fact that they didn't ask outright for a donation made us all the more happy to give to the cause. Thank you!

Cedar House Gallery - Huu Mees Ma As

Reviewed By Tj R - Vancouver

We were there in the off-season but selection was still good. Likely to be a larger inventory in the summer. All artists' names and cultural affiliation were noted, nice. Prices very good, and it seems like there isn't a lot of markup going to third parties.
