This is basically a roadside restaurant on the outskirts of the town, yet the cuisine is outstanding, moderately priced and the atmosphere very welcoming. It is a bit tricky to get there from downtown Wieliczka without a car, as first it takes about 20 minutes walking and then the access from the street it is officially located on is not possible - you end in the restaurants´backyard. You need to take a lateral street (Zajazdowa) which will eventualy take you to the parking lot.

They started with a dirty and smelly glasses...after pointing this, they exchanged it without any problems. I took beetroot soup which was at most average. For the main dish I got trout. I took it only because they served it from old-timed brick oven. I expected much more than just a regular fish, barely seasoned. If you seek for tasty food just go somewhere else. However my friends' Zurek soup was really great.

We were visiting the Kings hunting lodge/ castle in Niepolomice when we happened upon this restaurant. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the inner courtyard. We shared a Cesar salad and pierogies. Both were very good. Portion size was large. The server didn't pay too much attention to us as she was responsible for many tables.

Karczma Halit opened 18 years ago found a seat in the house boasting a documented history of over 370 years old. The oldest map of Wieliczka from 1638 of Marcin German's plan building is shown with the notation ,,Andruszkowskie". The fate of the buildings, as evidenced by the following maps and plans was quite dramatic - it affected the collapse of the chamber, "Kręciny" in 1744, now clearly visible reduction in the area and fire around the year 1820. The current shape of the building was given at the beginning of the nineteenth century. The unique atmosphere of the place and proximity mines provoked the decision to open an inn in this place. Restored by the new owner welcomes all visitors and residents their motto. ,, Your responsibility is to be hungry and thirsty - Our job is to fix this " You can taste great traditional Polish cuisine and hospitality it's the best. Karczma Halit is a unique atmosphere. We organize parties, weddings, company banquets, catering, and meals for groups of domestic and foreign. We offer 170 seats in two halls. Karczma Halit attraction is dinner with folklore [Polka Party). The specialty of the inn is a traditional Polish and Polish cuisine at its best.

You see this restaurant right when you are leaving the salt mines. Thought we'd give it a try. A nice, traditional looking restaurant when you walk in, however, when we did, no one greeted us. I tried to make eye contact with the staff and even walked by them but they didn't acknowlege us. We just then walked to an open table and sat down. After about 30 minutes or so we had someone approach us and give us menus. The place wasn't extremely busy to justify the wait but maybe that's the way they do it here. English not a problem. Once we ordered, the food that came out was timely. Had the mushroom bread bowl soup and the grilled chicken with cranberry sauce and potatoes. The food was decent, nothing over the top. Getting the check took a while too. If it wasn't for the wait times, and lack of an acknowledgement of customers, I'd have given this place a higher rating.

Zamówione przez nas dania były niekompletne - brakowało w nich wybranych składników. Czas oczekiwania na zamówienie był dużo dłuższy niż deklarowany przez obsługę. Najgorsze jednak jest to, że obsługa nie zna podstawowych zwrotów grzecznościowych. Nie polecam! Odwiedzającym Niepołomice jako mieszkaniec sugeruję wybierać inne ciekawsze miejsca np. mieszczący się blisko puszczy Bar Smak.

We've eaten here twice during our stay in Niepolomice. The food is delicious, staff very friendly and prices very reasonable.
For our mains, my partner had Salmon fillet, accompanied by vegatables and risotto. Delicious!! I ordered the goat cheese salat which came presented beautifully and tasted even better.
Overall we were very pleased and would love to come back again!

Zajadalnia, is a small to middle size Polish restaurant where you can find for a very decent price the best Polish dishes. The pice/ quality is perfect. I was the cook is a very experienced person which tries to make every with the least amount of manchinery I was told. Furhermore, the owern is the most kind person in Poland. Friendly and eager to share various topics.
If you hare visiting the mines in the neighbourhood you definately have to go here.

+ Lovely food and great variety of foods. Friendly and efficient staff that delivered food quickly. Unique place that sells non-sweet crepes. Location was about 5 min walk from the salt mine. It was also a very nice and big place with great ambiance.

To Note: The entrance door is extremely hard to open so if you push it and it does not open, push harder, it's not closed
