Naumburg (German pronunciation: [ˈnaʊmbʊɐ̯k]) is a town in (and the administrative capital of) the district Burgenlandkreis, in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It has a population of around 33,000.The city is part of the World Heritage nomination Naumburg Cathedral and the High Medieval Cultural Landscape of the Rivers Saale and Unstrut. This nomination is representative for the processes that shaped the continent during the High Middle Ages between 1000 and 1300: Christianization, the so-called “Landesausbau” and the dynamics of cultural exchange and transfer characteristic for this very period.

Was there with friends and family on a Sunday just after the noon-day crowd. Everything was great. The goose was excellent, the Klösse and accompaniments tasty, the atmosphere warm, the service professional. Hope to be able to go back one day and find it much unchanged.

Beware, opening days were restricted to Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, when we were staying in Naumburg in early September 2015. Our group were the only diners in this family run restaurant. It was as though we were in a homely dining room. Nice food.

Cozy, warm atmosphere. The waitress searched high and low for a menu in English for us since we don't speak German and her English was limited. I had the boiled beef w/horseradish sauce & dumpling while my husband and daughter had huge salads w/chicken strips. Right in the center of the old town. Worth a visit!

We had a light lunch here on a damp cold day and found the host and the fare very agreeable. I enjoyed the Soljanka and my partner the bratwurst with very good coffee to follow. The prices are reasonable and the place is very smart and clean. Service was prompt and the staff smiling and chatty. Recommended.

Das im Hotel "Stadt Aachen" befindliche Restaurant "Carolus Magnus" liegt zentral am Marktplatz von Naumburg. Bei gutem Wetter kann man auch draussen Platz nehmen, was wir zunächst taten. Leider zog der Himmel dann zu und es begann zu tröpfeln. Wir nahmen im urigen Gastraum Platz. Die Bedienungen waren aufmerksam und kompetent. Unsere Bestellung wurde zügig aufgenommen. Die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet, deshalb dauert es etwas, bis das Essen fertig ist. Darauf wird in der Speisekarte hingewiesen. Uns schmeckte das Essen gut. Es war nett auf den Tellern angerichtet. Lediglich der Rotkohl war mir geschmacklich zu fad, schien fast gar nicht gewürzt, obwohl er hausgemacht war und kein Fertigprodukt.
Die Speisekarte ist nicht allzu groß, jedoch findet jeder etwas. Getränkekarte ist sehr gut, nicht alltägliche Biere, diverse Säfte und gute Weinauswahl.
Preislich nicht ganz günstig (erwartet man am Marktplatz aber auch nicht), aber angemessen.

After having traveled for eight hours from Zurich we arrive in Naumburg. Very hungry. The "Alter Krug" is recommended to us for our evening meal, and now I recommend it to you.
I had an excellent Silvaner (white wine) from the wine region Saale-Unstrut (that Naumburg belongs to). And with it I ate a herring filet, fried potatoes and cabbage. My friend had filled beef meet (Fleischvogel), red cabbage and Klöpse. It was very well prepared and the service was friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cosy.
It was a great recommendation and a wonderful welocme to Northern Germnay,

A very cozy Greek restaurant The Rodos Palast situated only one minute off the Market Place. It is located in a very old place which is prompted by the ceiling beams supporting the construction. It is very homey inside, the menu was purely Greek, the service is welcoming. The food was just good. #
We would pop in against once in town. Recommended!

eine Oase der Ruhe und ein Hochgenuß für Gartenfreunde.
Ich glaube, man wird sehr lange suchen müssen, um soviel Schönes zu finden.
Sehr guter Wein aus der Region und dazu leckere Crepes - ein Traum !
Aber auch der Aufenthalt im absolut einmalig originellen Cafe ist unbedingt zu empfehlen.
Und dazu noch sehr informatiefe Gespräche mit den Inhabern.
Wir waren total begeistert und kommen mit Sicherheit bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Naumburg wieder zurück in den Weingarten 12.
