Once again I must thank my friend Fredrik Pahlett for booking the room for me and my brother in this wonderful hotel in this very beautiful and unique little town...
We were there just the night of August 18th, but I will be back again for sure!
We were in room 237, at the Tennis Padillon building. Our room was not very big, but over all very nice and warm. Unfortunately we had no time to visit the spa, although we heard it is very nice! With Fredrik we had dinner here and it was wonderful: I loved very much my caviar as starter.
Breakfast buffet is just perfect, they even have my favorite super food: goji berries!

Considering the location and their effort of trying to make it feel and look like a extravagant restaurant the food didn't represent that.
We had a package deal so the three course dinner was included. We had three choices of starters, three mains and two desserts. I had the duck for starter and it was good but not very interesting or innovative. I felt something was missing from the dish to give it a memorable kick. We all chose the meat for main and it was well cooked, three of us wanted it rare and one very well done. I was surprised about that the meat wasn't that tender. It was alright. It was served with a potato cake, red wine sauce and some mushrooms and baked pumpkin. There were way to little sauce, but when we asked we did get more free of charge, and the dish lacked salt. Specially the potato cake. For the dessert two of us chose the cheese and two the dessert (chocolate tart with orange). I think this was the best of the dishes.
As for the service it started out quite well but there was not any attention at out table when it came to filling up the watercontainer or asking us if we would like anything more to drink, any after dinner drinks or coffe. Every time we wished for something we had to fight a bit to get noticed. We still had a good dinner and since I didn't pay for the weekend package I do not know what price we payed for the dinner, but my expectations were not met.

We were driving south and stopped for lunch in Laholm. As for advice in a local shop and Gröna Hästen was recommended. The lunch of the day was fish soup, which I had and chicken and potatoes, which my husband ate. Salad bar, good bread and coffee and cookies are included in the 80 kr. lunch price. The salad was fresh and the food good and warm.
Also, the dining room has large windows that look out over a river so it was a very pleasant lunch with a nice view!

We stayed at this wonderful hotel and because of the location, this was the only choice for eating, but to be honest, there is no need for any other place, this was absolutely great.
Picked their menu including starter, main course and dessert, also added their recommended wines for the food.
The service could have been a little better, it was not bad at all, but still you could had a little more attention. The restaurant was rather crowded, but I guess it's always are when it's nice weather, so then it could possible be planned.
Anyway, the food was just wonderful and they put the little extra effort in decorating and giving the right experience for this. I would love to go back for more than one night and eat all of them here.. :)

Vi var de eneste i restauranten, og lige før lukketid.
Bestilte.:
2 wienerschnitzel og 2 øl.
Kunne kun få med pommes frites, hvilket vi måtte acceptere.
Serveringen var meget intet sigende, hverken sur eller smilende.
Der blev serveret de 2 øl, nok det bedste ved stedet..
Senere kom der schnitzeler, med pommes og meget få ærter.
schnitzel, vil jeg nu ikke kalde det, nærmest et par flad banket, usmagelige kødlunser.
Ikke pengene værd.
Denne ret bør hedde noget andet på menukortet.
Kinesisk restaurant, så mon ikke de skal holde sig til det !!! og ikke lave europæisk mad.
Kommer helt sikkert ikke igen!!!

We were a party of 5 visiting the restaurant one Saturday evening. The lady in the supermarket had recommended the restaurant to us.
One chose a pizza, three the Plank steak with mashed potatoes and I got the Steak with potato gratin. Even though the steaks were supposed to be the same I got one almost double the size of the others :-)
The steaks were grilled to perfection after our choice and there was plenty of gratin and sauce to go with. A few more vegetables would have been nice, though.
The restaurant was not more than half full. The girls serving were nice, but slow. So was the kitchen. It took them more than 30 minutes to complete our order.

Vi kunde beställa snabbt men alla burgare fanns inte att beställa samt att krydda till pommes frites
saknades. Ok toaletter och parkering fanns.
