Dit restaurant is relatief eenvoudig maar knus ingericht. Vriendelijke, hulpvaardige bediening, smakelijke Mexicaans/Spaanse gerechten. Zeker niet alleen pizzas.
Parkeren eenvoudig dichtbij. Enig nadeel is het feit dat het ook een afhaal-take-away zaak is, hetgeen het geheel wat rommelig maakt.

Stopped here while in this very quaint little town on a walking tour of our Viking River Cruise. One of the cleanest and nicest towns we visited during our stay in Holland.
Stopped for coffee and a snack. The waitress suggested their Award Winning Apple Pie, and she hit a home run !
Sat out side , the best Apple Pie I ever eaten !
If we ever get back, we will also try their main meals and their hotel, sounds and looks great.
Great town to walk and visit the shops and water front .

For a party of 4, after the first order, the waitress complaints that no the menu was choosen and rather a plate a la carte. For this, "you don't reserve a nice restaurant, you eat outside".
Everyone was shocked and it is not cultural as half the table was from Holland.
We always take a plate by plate and not the menu - usually ending with an higher bill.
After the main course, another waitress asked it was done. It was replied "no" politely and the plates were taken anyway.

Coming from coastal New England we are especially particular about our fish. Both fish entrees were above our expectations and simply delicious; mussel soup was outstanding! Outdoor patio was quaint and lovely. Good service, Less slow than many of our European experiences.

Werf is a recently refurbished restaurant, which reopened in May 2015. The in-house architecture is beautiful and the view from the restaurant to the pitoresque town of Veere is nice.
The food is 'okey', but the service is poor. The service we experienced was very 'amicale' to such an extent that it became funny. This is realy not what you expect in a decor such as Werf. It has realy negatively influenced the overall rating.

Set in a beautiful little square in the lovely little town of Veere is an amazing cafe/restaurant called Suster Anna. From the outside it's a lovely old Dutch town house but on the inside it's an amazing modern, contemporary restaurant with some astounding architectural features. Big open dining area, mezzanine balconies, conservatory and a quiet, colourful garden; take your pick of where you want to eat.
The menu is actually surprising with it's choice as at first glimpse it appears to be pancakes and more pancakes but a read through reveals some fantastic dishes.
The smoked salmon and samphire omelette was unbelievably tasty and the pasta dishes looked very generous and there were certainly no complaints about the pancakes from our table.
Admittedly the drinks are not the biggest and we did end up ordering a few rounds as it was such a hot day but this is the only fault we could find. Price was good as was the service with the staff being friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend for a little something special and different for lunch.

Even though there is nothing much for vegetarians, the waiter (I didn't ask his name) was very friendly and suggested good options. He even asked the cook to make some variations in the regular menu to suit our diet. The portions were of good size. Looked like its quite popular with the locals too. They have a nice bar with lot of options.

Good restaurant, value for money, and the most amazing desserts!
I asked for my steak to be underdone (bleu-chaud) but it turned out medium rare. My husband's mussels though were of a high standard. The desserts - quality and presentation - were fabulous and worthy of a much more expensive restaurant. Service was on the slow side but very friendly. The back of the restaurant leads to a glass enclosure where you can also dine: much nicer to be sitting during summer evenings though the restaurant itself is very romantic for winter evenings.

We are from Texas and have been hunting good Mexican food in Europe for years. Been going here for the past 2 years on our periodic weekend beach visits.
The food is good. On a European scale of Mexican restaurants, it's 7 or 8 out of 10. For purists, on the Texas scale of Mexican restaurants, it's around 4 or 5. If you're expecting genuine burritos or whatever, don't complain, fly to Mexico or the US southwest. It's about as good as you're gonna get in Europe.
The other two attractions are the service and kid's play area - super ball pit/slide/3-level climbing maze thing, with other various games and stuff. My 6 yr old son calls it the "Island Restaurant" for reasons unknown but he goes ape every time we tell him that's where we are having dinner. Besides the playground they have a treasure chest of little toys, you get one when you leave if you're nice, and a candy bracelet too!
We go to this restaurant about once every six months, as it is 150km away. We got great help on our first visit (don't speak Dutch, so we're pretty obviously from out of town right away, and they couldn't dig up their English menu the first visit). 2nd and subsequent visits get us a friendly "Hello, welcome back" from our favorite waitress, who surprisingly remembers us after a 6 month hiatus. Awesome. Also they whip out the English menu for us, having found it!
Finding the place could be a challenge - major road construction happened in the area, your GPS might go nuts and put you on a bicycle path. The road it is on does narrow to one-lane width crossing a berm, but it is still a car road, don't panic. Once you're on the right road, easy to spot - very well decorated with green & red colors in a residential area.
It's always crowded on a Friday night, so that's another good sign.

We had a very satisfying lunch there last Saturday. Basically, I can confirm what previous contributors have written: unpretentious, but decent, reasonably priced food, limited selection of dishes and wines (good Nero d'Avola being the house red wine). Nice setting.
One essential advice: Try to look or behave like a yachtie, as this is the clubhouse of the Jachtclub Veere (it's in the name...). We saw that some potential customers were asked if they were members of a Yacht club, and when they answered "no", they were politely sent away. In other words, if you want to eat there, you better have the name of a sailing club at hand even if you never joined one.
