Top 10 restaurants in Isle of Arran, United Kingdom (UK)

March 11, 2018 Malia Yoakum

Packed to the gills with antique silver, porcelain and furniture, the red sandstone Brodick Castle is one of the highlights of the Isle of Arran. The castle overlooks Goatfell, a majestic hill that’s a popular day hike. The Machrie Moor stone circles make for a mystical field trip, as does a tour of The Arran Malt whisky distillery.

Have been staying in Lamlash with mum, her partner and my dog for a week. Called in a couple of nights ago for a drink after a walk, what a find! Great bar and lovely staff. Good selection of drinks all served with a smile....MoreI am so grateful to you for such a lovely review. We are very proud of all our staff both front of house and kitchen and it's reviews like this that make the hard work worth while. Many thanks.

Visited with friends this weekend, we usually got to cruize but we decided to change it up a little this time and I’m so glad we did! We each had 3 tapas and between us all it was more than enough. Cheese scones were melt in the mouth, salmon platter was to die for, haggis Mac and black was my favourite! Also had prawns, sticky chicken with the best kale I’ve ever tasted, would go back just for that alone! Beets and cheese was very rich but gorgeous, and the venison slider looked tiny but was very filling. Afterwards it’s lovely to sit through the bar with the open fire and an Arran gold liquor. :) I visit Arran now at least once a year although this weekend was my 4th in a year and I can’t wait to return.

Friendly, efficient staff explain all the dishes and where they are sourced. Great use of the fabulous produce to be found on the island.
The bar has many unusual Scottish gins...we were lucky enough to taste the very1st batch of Arran Gin while we were there!
The restaurant his tastefully decorated with a cosy feel enhanced by the wood burner which is a focal point for those just having a drink or perusing the menu before going to their table.

Cruize Bar Brasserie

We had breakfast in the Cruize Bar Brasserie and it was great, typical continental and cooked breakfast hot breakfast to order. To my surprise, on asking for soya milk (as I'm dairy intolerant) the waitress was happy to get some for me. I am also Veggie, so vegetarian sausages and eggs cooked separately wasn't a problem.
This evening Nick & I went for dinner and we started with haggis Nachos & spicy crab cakes followed by venison sausages with mash and fish & chips respectively.
All in all, the staff were very efficient and the food was very tasty. The restaurant, as its surrounded in glass made the restaurant quite chilly, but it is - 3 outside!

Ate here with 5 friends yesterday, for lunch and post-lunch drinks. The service was welcoming and effective. The staff knew their menu. Though we arrived late in the day for lunch, they were cheery. The Cullen Skink was pleasantly different, brothy and scrummy. The club sarnies and chips my friends had looked good too. After lunch, we repaired to the bar for a couple of bottles of wine. Again, the service was good - friendly and unobtrusive. We also met local drinkers.
We were concerned having read some unfavourable reviews on TripAdvisor about this place. We do not recognise their descriptions.

We start with a well-chosen menu featuring local, seasonal ingredients. Our chefs take pride in each dish and alter the menu with the passing seasons to take full advantage of the best of the local produce. Just click on the links above to see our current menus. And atmosphere is important, too. We've chosen soothing colours, exposed the sandstone walls and polished the wooden floorboards to make a great place to relax and enjoy the food, the wine and the company.

Had a gorgeous Christmas lunch here with friends .... it was delicious. Great choice of food on the menu ... I had homemade chicken liver to start with a Turkey paupiette with seasonal veg with Sticky Toffee pudding for dessert. The staff couldn’t do enough for us ... we had the best time. A must visit for anyone visiting Arran!

Visited here for lunch with my mum. Nice varied menu ranging from smaller plates and sandwiches to full main meals. Also some lovely Deserts and home baking. Atmosphere was really nice with a lovely coal fire roaring away. The lady that served us could not have been more friendly and this just added to the experience. We shared the garlic mushrooms.....which were so tasty and a rather nice piece of homemade chocolate cake. Definitely worth a lunch stop.

Nice setting on the seafront. I managed to get a seat at the bar and had the burger with added Arran cheese and bacon. The tables were all fully booked so I wouldn't recommend counting on being able to eat without a booking. Unfortunately, Arran doesn't seem to have any mobile phone masts (except Brodick) so it;s difficult to call in a reservation. While I was there, several people were turned away, and all said the same thing - "I tried to book, but couldn't get a signal!"

There is no food available on the Lochranza to Claonaig ferry, and this little takeaway is just across the road from the ferry queue, so it makes good sense to park up your car in the queue then come in for a coffee or a roll while you wait. That's just what we did, and we really enjoyed the quality of the coffee, sandwiches and the soup (amazing soup!). The bread was unexpectedly good, too. Outstanding service from the lady behind the counter. Would very highly recommend!

Should have followed previous Trip Advisor reports and booked for two night! Cosy surroundings, delightful hostess and staff, relaxed meal with a menu which made it so hard to choose what to have - totally spoilt for choice. Dined with two guests from USA, one of whom is of Italian parentage - and if she says the linguine was brilliant, then it was! Likewise, the bread and butter pudding - "as good as my Mum made" has got to be a compliment. Don't forget to take your own alcohol - and what a bonus not to be charged "corkage". An essential visit if your are Arran - well worth the journey from other parts of the island. But you HAVE to book - we did so in April for a September visit.
