The hotel Monika is okay. It's not expensive, the rooms are clean, though a bit run down. The shower has a knee hugging Norman Bates curtain. You cannot leave the window open, because of the traffic noise. However, it was okay, it was for one night and conveniently close to my appointment the next day.
The restaurant, however, is what makes it worth your while. Good food, friendly service, nice wine. There were business people, but also quite a few local people.

We came as a party of five to this typical Greek restaurant in the center of Gross-Gerau.
Service was friendly but had some problems with the German language, so we felt partially treated rude - especially whilst serving the huge meals: "Make space on the table!".
The food itself tasted great, despite it was made with a lot of oil - too much oil for our taste on the fish so we did not eat it.
Otherwise a nice Greek restaurant which offered free Ouzo shots before and even after the dinner.

The restaurant is adjacent to a local sports club in the fields of North Groß-Gerau.
It provides a great (and safe) place for kids to run around outside and a nice outside area/beer garden.
The food on the menu is basic Spanish and/or German, tasty but maybe not tremendously adventurous.
The staff was very friendly and keen to get to know and keep their guests happy.
Overall we enjoyed it and will be going back again.

First you have to find out the business hours, second you have to find seats!
The choice of wine is good from regional products to the whole world.
The salads are huge and tasty, the other meals make you curious. There are paintings wich can be purchased and the atmosphere is pleasant.

This is an upscale Italian restaurant right in the center of town on one side of the market place that my mother and I visit every time I'm in town. The food is great, wine just right, Deserts nice, coffees beautiful.
We love sitting at tables with white table cloths, and being served absolutely in style.

I ordered their special wrap... Came pipping hot... The wrap is crispy while inside is fresh and hot with dressing and kebab meat... And the fries, just fried. When asked what is the "white" drink they served to customers, thinking it was milk, they offered me some. Will recommend tourists to try :-)

Although it is hard to score some of the 18 seats on the weekends, it´s well worth the wait :)
If you decide to get the menu, you will have a starter (if you´re lucky it´s coconut soup), a special sushi roll from a choice of 5 different ones, all you can eat within the 2 hr reservation you have on your seats, a desert and some amuse-gueule in between. Who´d have suspected this small gem in the not so large city of Groß-Gerau?
Everything is freshly made at the end of the Seating area from prime ingredients - top quality. Some of the best sushi within a 100 km radius!
The staff is super nice, the drink selection not the usual and the food phenomenal - not really much more needed to say :)
