Elmshorn (German pronunciation: [ɛlmsˈhɔʁn]) is a town in the district of Pinneberg in Schleswig-Holstein in Germany. It is located 30 km north of Hamburg at the small river Krückau, close to the Elbe river, is the sixth-largest city in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Elmshorn has a shopping center and common area in the center of town called the "Buttermarkt" by the locals although its official name is Karl-Marx-Platz. In the surrounding areas are small farms and dairy/ horse farms. It is the birthplace of writer and editor Hermann Schlüter (1851–1919), the mathematician Hermann Weyl (1885–1955), and the medievalist Heinz Woehlk (1944- ).

Il Salento is my favorite restaurant in Elmshorn, the atmosphere is genuine Italian, the staff is very friendly and the service is up to a very good standard. We eat here very often and we have from a normal pizza to fish. Every time the quality was great. I have been here for personal and business reason, always with great outcomes. I have taken some of my Italian friend and they all have been impressed form the food. You cannot ask more from an Italian restaurant, if Italians like it, it must be good.

Bei gutem Wetter kann man ganz nett draußen sitzen, innen ist die Geräuschkulisse häufig recht hoch, das liegt sicher daran , dass das Haus tatsächlich aus Glas ist. Das war mir aber vorab bekannt. Die junge Frau im Service war unheimlich nett. Das muss man echt loben. Die Speisen (Burger und Spanische Tortilla mit Salat ) waren in Ordnung, sind allerdings kein rausragendes Geschmacks Erlebnis - könnten etwas Pep und Würze vertragen. Fazit : Nett um bei gutem Wetter draussen zu Speisen .

Die Bewertungen sind etwas missverständlich. Aus meiner SIcht bietet 'Jim Coffey' genau das - Kaffee und ähnliche Heissgetränke ergänzt um Süsses und ggf. Snacks / Suppen. Und das Angebot ist sehr gut in Bezug auf Kaffeesorten und Heisse Schokolade/Kakao. Service gibt es eigentlich nicht - es wird an der Theke bestellt und man nimmt das Gekaufte selbst mit an einen Tisch. Es gibt aus meiner Sicht nichts zu meckern.

Nach der Renovierung ist es hier viel gemütlicher. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut und der Ouzo, der nicht überall schmeckt, schmeckt hier besonders :-) Das Ehepaar könnte etwas freundlicher sein, gerade er ist immer sehr ernst :-( Wer griechisches Essen "gehoben" mag, ist hier richtig.

I come to Elmshorn for business and always make sure to plan a dinner at ochi's. This week, I was luck enough to go twice. Thursday nights are always busy. Tuesday was much quieter. I've had the steak (very tender) and a pizza (Ochi - with gorgonzola, pear, and parma ham) and both were really tasty. Can't go wrong with a nice glass of weisbeir either. Highly recommend this - especially if you travel by train since it's in the center of town by the train station.

On 26 December, many restaurants were closed yet Elrado-House was luckily not. My friend and I went in for an early dinner after a long drive. We chose something from the Christmas menu. I was particularly satisfied with the Argentinian steak, which was soft and really juicy. Atmosphere in the restaurant was also nice. It's a bit surprising to have such a quality restaurant in Elmshorn :-)

Visited for a work dinner .it is not fine dining cuisine but good honest tasty German food. Not huge choices in Elmshorn so a good option if you are nearby.

A cosy pub with the typical Irish design. So far, all as you find it in many places around the world. However, once you taste the food, you will be very surprised about the excellent quality. Especially when tasting the slow cooked beef ribs. They are an absolute delight and hard to beat! I can only recommend to give it a try when you are somewhere around Elmshorn!

Wir sind spontan an einem Mittwochabend zu viert in der Kantine essen gewesen. Als krasser Gegensatz zum Namen hat das Restaurant überhaupt nicht das Flair einer Kantine. Ich war vom Ambiente und der modernen Einrichtung wirklich positiv überrascht. An diesem Abend war außer unserem nur noch ein weiterer Tisch mit 4 Personen besetzt, was wohl auch der Lage etwas ab vom Schuss geschuldet ist. Parken kann man problemlos auf dem großen Parkplatz hinter dem Haus. Der junge Kellner, der uns bediente, war entweder nur eine Aushilfe oder noch ganz neu im Job. Er war zwar sehr nett und freundlich, sonst aber sehr unsicher und nervös, d.h. er musste dauernd etwas nachfragen und öfter mal was runtergefallen ist auch. Aber aller Anfang ist schwer. Die Speisekarte bietet nicht allzu viele verschiedene Gerichte und setzt einen Schwerpunkt auf Nudeln. Hier hätte ich mir etwas mehr Auswahl gewünscht. Auf unsere Essen mussten wir nicht lange warten, der Koch hatte ja auch nicht viel zu tun. Die Portionen waren ok und geschmeckt hat alles gut. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war auch in Ordnung. Hier kann man ruhig öfter hingehen!

Autumn in Schleswig-Holstein is wonderful, better still is finding a warm, welcoming restaurant that serves excellent local delicacies. We have visited this local establishment in Elmshorn, which also has its hotel part. My order was Sander (pike perch) with roasted baby potatoes and seasonal steamed vegetables. Having not tried pike perch before I was unsure but the maitre d swiftly persuaded me in her warn English saying it is what the locals cal "Edel fisch" - noble fish! Noble fish it is and in lovely local companion's words "Meine Güte, das ist sehr Fabelhaft" (My goodness, that is fantastic) are enough to say what I thought of my meal. Needless to say, the service was impeccable matching the quality and cooking of the food. Top marks. One minus is there was no free wi-fi. But hey, that is a small sacrifice worth paying for a wonderful lunch at Drei Kronen at Elmshorn.
