Republic Restaurant

Republic is a restaurant-lounge bar offering high quality international cuisine, open all day all year for lunch, dinner or just a glass of wine or a cocktail. Situated in Marina de Denia, it offers spectacular views to the Mediterranean sea, the marina, the Montgo and the most beautiful sunsets. In summertime we open our outside barbecue kitchen where the chef prepares delicious grilled dishes and in wintertime we light our fire place and create a warm atmosphere on chilly nights.

Quique Dacosta

Disappointing - moderate food - unprofessional service : this is the summary of our dinner-experience.
The food is by no means innovative, it is boring...as is the presentation.
Nonetheless, taste is personal and interpretable (although we doubt that in this case). What is not open for discussion however is the atmosphere, the hospitality and the service. Everything is particularly stressful from beginning to end. There is no private parking, no parking service. The location of the restaurant is on a particularly busy road. The Terrace is in front of the restaurant. You get the idea that you are next to a highway. We counted 9 waiters who did not bother to greet us, but just stood there, looking at us while we drank our aperitif. Luckily they did not have the courtesy to let us finish and we were TOLD to go inside. I left my menu on the Terrace table. The waitress told me I HAD to pick it up and take it inside (excuse me ?). The Interior consists of a number of white kitchen tables and what outdated applied art. We got a small pillow on the floor, where we 'HAD TO' put on our sunglasses (eh?). In many dishes we were told that most of what was on the plate was "only decoration" and not edible... (how 80s)...Unfortunately this is only the tip of the iceberg...(toilets were not checked, main course was served on plastic plates...etc).
What annoyed us the most is the pace at which they wanted to get rid of us. Sometimes our course was not yet finished and the next one was put on the table. We asked to reduce the pace, but this was not taken into account. In addition we got the headwaiter twice (!!) at our table (for about 15 minutes each time). This to tell us how fantastic he thinks he is, and how grateful we have to be to eat at this restaurant. In addition he had to criticize fellow restaurant holders and chefs ... in short, particularly unprofessional and not collegiate...
In the end we were gratefull that the express-train pace was not slowed down. We could not wait for this disappointing experience to end. The bill also came quickly (thankfully). The change however did not. We decided not to wait for it, got up and got out. There was no one to lead us out and say goodbye to anyway...(?)
Golden advice: don't try to be smart like us and believe the negative criticism.
What Michelin inspired to give such an appreciation to this restaurant is incomprehensible.
To the chef and owner: please also consider your customer, review your menu (less courses, better quality), and fire all your staff, they are rude, not well-trained and ignorant ... good luck

Went on recommendation and had to call 4 times before getting availability. Restaurant doesn't open till 8.30 and we were there long before anyone else arrived at least an hour. Menu displayed on Facebook page we were told is an old one but after checking with the chef they gave us it as was fixed price menu. Was a bit surprised then to see most tables of Spanish order it. Food was good and quits different but portions were very big. Stingray was lovely and well worth the set menu price of €19pp wine excluded but waiter told us it's only alacarte now till next summer? Big confused

Probably the most creative & innovative food to be had ion Denia. Miguel Ruiz & his team provide a gastronomic delight. Every dish is fresh produce and freshly made. The creative blend of ingredients and presentation are first class. The serving staff know the food and each individual dish. There is a small but ample menu which is extended by daily special dishes and likewise the Wine list encompasses monthly additions.
This is a cullinary experience and will be best appreciated by those who believe food is an event to be enjoyed.

This restaurante although looking quite plain, has a good outside Seating arrangement and a comfortable arrangement inside. We sat outside and although nights are cooling down it was still very pleasant.
Food was really very nice and the staff very attentive, friendly and helpful. I see that this place has already acquired good reviews and in our view thouroughly deserving. We would not hesitate in going back there again, but you dont come to Spain neccesarily to eat indian food.............we might squeeze one more in before we go back home at the end of the month.

Aticook is a different and unique concept, where kitchen and dining room blend into a common space where you can find a greatest conexion between cook and diners, encouraging transparence and show cooking.Aticcook is more than a restaurante, is a gastronomic experience.I deals with an exhibition where the chef cooks in front of the customers, he talks about the products ans explains the making process. The diners, as well as enjoying the meal, look and participate in a culinary show at the same time that they feel at home.

I have just eaten the best meal I think I have ever had, and I have eaten in some top establishments world wide. Unless you enjoy eating late in the evening, lunch is a better option, as they don't start serving until all the customers have arrived. The courses are small but so plentiful you will not go hungry. The food is original with amazing flavours. I have booked to return later in the year to take friends who I know will appreciate a gastronomic experience.

Visited this place on a Thursday night and there was live music. The band was very good and created a great atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, especially the owner. Food is what I'd call large tapas - bigger portions made for sharing. All our dishes were made from good quality ingredients and well cooked. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced.
A really good night out.
