Ill start with the bad point and say that the barmen were a little blunt and didn't seem to have any chit chat about them. Anyway, we were seated in front of a fire which was a big win for me. The drinks were brought...MoreMany thanks for your write up and I am sorry about our chatless barman I'll go give him a kick. Glad you enjoyed the rest of the inn and the food. Regards Cb

Visited Friday lunchtime on 9th Feb
All Four of us had the tasting menu which I can only describe as sublime. I honestly couldn’t choose a favourite course, it was that good. Deep, intense, challenging, above all interesting food outstandingly prepared and presented.
The staff were excellent, friendly, knowledgable and discrete
The Amalfie Merangue thing was to die for
If this was to be my last supper I would be a very happy diner.
Thanks to Stephen an£ the team.

Went in thinking of eating but it was not our scene, children running round and playing all over I think from the caravan site. The tables and chairs could do with a refurb, lacked good atmosphere, staff very pleasant but overall not what I expect from a country pub advertising good food not at all what we expected.

Parkers Arms

A contemporary country inn with its fair share of history, The Parkers Arms is located just outside of Clitheroe in the prettily sleepy village of Newton in Bowland where, so were told you can hear the grass grow. The beautifully traditional whitewashed inn, hung with colourful baskets of flowers and lined with parasol shaded outdoor tables, invites guests in with the promise of glorious regional food and a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere both of which it delivers in spades. The cuisine is rightfully British, with a few global treats of course, based on local and seasonal ingredients cooked using creativity and imagination as well as a little tradition too (and speaking of tradition we absolutely insist you try the fantastic Sunday roast here at The Parkers Arms). Pints of good local ales are joined by delicious wines from all over the globe, so whether youre resting after a bracing dog walk or celebrating a special occasion, The Parkers Arms has not only the food but the drink to suit too. Indeed, balancing modern and classic style, informal and efficient service and relaxed and special food, The Parkers Arms appears to have created what could quite easily be the perfect local inn.

We had Sunday lunch and both had 3 courses for £25. Quite simply every course, and every dish was simply superb, and to have all 3 courses for £25 is an absolute bargain. Service was very courteous, attentive and knowledgeable, without being pushy or overbearing.
My only piece of friendly advice to the owners would be to possibly improve the website in order to reflect just how good the food is, including some menus ( I could only see a childrens menu & valentines menu ) plus better gallery pictures that are up to date, with the gallery link placed at the top of the page.
Thank you for a fantastic afternoon.

We have usually enjoyed our visits to benedicts, but after this morning feel very disappointed and won't be rushing back. Had a long wait just to get our drinks (filter coffee so not complicated) and an even longer wait for our breakfast. The breakfast however was very nice and thankfully the free refills of coffee kept us going whilst we waited. However whilst i dont really mind cafes allowing dogs, i do mind waitresses making a fuss over them and allowing them to jump up on their uniform before then continuing to clear tables. Thankfully we had finished our breakfast by then.

After our Son aged 4 had set his heart on a chicken dinner with Yorkshire pudding! We asked our friendly waitress if there was anything they could? Well we turns out they could. As requested by GREEN veg, Yorkshire pud and a Roast Chicken breast was cooked up by tge chef. Happy children means happy grown ups! Our meals were all fantastic. Then the chocolate brownie for dessert was a winner with coconut ice-cream! It was more of a roll home than a walk. We will be back! Thank you
